  1. It's about 8:00 AM and already near 100F / 38C so I head north towards the ghost town of Rhyolite .....
  2. I've dropped over 10,000 feet in elevation - almost 2 miles - from home to here......
  3. Passed an abandoned old Opera House from years ago ...
  4. Pointed the bike west and headed to Death Valley...
  5. Up at 4:00 AM today and out on the bike to beat the heat. I swung by the Strip for a drive - it was largely empty ...
  6. Join the club. It's criminal to have a tank that small.
  7. Earache

    Van action ...

How come the Peak District doesn't have any "peaks" in it? The Lake District has a few Lakes.
  8. Nice pics - love places like that. How old are the buildings? Don't look to be super old.
  9. See? I told you he was an old fucker!
  10. I'm sure. He's pretty small now - no muscles at all really. Really thin legs, etc. But fuck - he's like 70 years old and still alive and playing well.
  11. But George didn't disappoint - still one of the best guitarists out there ...
  12. Anyway, last night was the reason I came to Vegas in the first place; to see George Lynch play at a local bar I like here. Cool place with a HD chopper above the bar. Was waiting on the barmaid's titty to fall out and lay waste to all of the beer bottles on the bar - but it didn't happen....
  13. Exactly. Tiny assed tank on a tour bike makes no sense at all.
  14. With wind, high speeds and 2 up, I'm getting about 30 mpg. 4 gallon tank so I get 120 miles to a tank. A bike this big and heavy should have at least a 6 gallon tank.
  15. Speed limit is 65, (this is in California - fuckin' lefty, commie, liberal state that wants to tell you how to do everything), which is pretty low. I did roughly 85 across all of this. Going too fast and the pig of a bike drinks too much fuel.
  16. After about 100 miles and I'm starting to look for some some fuel. I get it when I can - not when I need it. If I see a fuel stop with 75 miles on the tank, I'll stop and top up. Wish this bike had a larger capacity tank,
  17. Cool place out in the desert next to the sheriff's office....
  18. Stopped off at the Crow Bar on Shoshone, California for lunch. Old style diner that hasn't been updated in years. Had a couple of burgers that were good and the wofe had some homemade blueberry pie that she said was excellent........
  19. Saturday we head out into the desert with no real destination. Again, there's not shit out here - no people, no towns, no nuthin'. Just miles and miles of empty road ....
  20. The restaurant area was devoid of any nudity and was really clean. Beers were ice cold and her margarita was perfection, albeit a tad on the expensive side at $23.00. Pints were around $8.50 each so not too bad. Food was even decent. I should have snapped some pics but we devoured the stuff too fast and I forgot to photo. Anyway; usual Mexican crap slathered on a plate. Pretty good! Weird looking place with odd lights, very dark interior and big bouncer guys at the front door. All kinda odd, weird Vegas kinda shit.
  21. The wife's flight arrived really late last night - around 12:00 midnight. I didn't eat as we were going to go out when she arrived. So I looked around and found a 24 hour Mexican joint online that would be open. Great ! She likes Mexican food a lot so this will work out for us. We pile into the Uber and drive about 20 minutes to the place. As we pull up, we notice that it's located in a titty bar! This is gonna be good. I offered to just go back but she wanted some food so in we went....
  22. He certainly has caused any moistness for years - if ever.
  23. I don't have the will power to stop at one beer once I've started. So have to leave those until evening.
  24. Works for me! Some places do have some sandwiches of some type but most just have dry crackers, chips, etc. I'm okay with that.
