MOT on my car tomorrow so up and out early
-
The storm here ended two days ago they had it bad in skewen and up north. As i said the plant i'm working on deals with storm water and has been running flat out at the start of this week and at 75% capacity for the last two days when we've had no rain there's been a lot dumped on us this week https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-55767054

What do you mean by self cover @Pedro
-
Yes tried it and and various versions of it. works great on tubeless wheels but didn't work on the tubed type, when i removed the tyre i had to deal with the mess it makes as well as the flat so will never use it again
-
That's just it if your enjoying the bike and the problems are minor then why not carry on enjoying it ?
-
Hopefully she will fancy some sushi after that
-
Sorry as a comparison hows your riding partners bike been compared to yours
-
Oh lord no the smell when you open them must be rank ??
-
Everything is reliable when you know how to turn a spanner
-
Only if you ride it on the road, it's still covered for fire and theft when parked up but you cannot ride it on the road until you have a new MOT and tax but you are covered to ride it to the MOT station after booking an appointment
-
That's because they wont get there under their own steam

@Grasshopper's Ride It does sound like you got a bit of a lemon it doesn't help you don't have a dealer on your doorstep. you get it with all makes of bike though. My mate bought a new Africa Twin about 6 months after i bought mine he had an endless list of faults with it and half the mileage of mine, within a year he had corrosion on the engine, frame, ABS rings, wheels and various fasteners all over the bike, The switches both sides of the handlebars failed, water inside the dash and i'm sure there was a lot more but he got lucky a tractor with trailer reversed into it and wrote it off, mine has been great only had to change the left side handlebar switch under warranty if i'd owned his it might have put me off Honda's forever.
-
It just sounds like you bought a royal Enfield the bike has a lot of soul you don't get that with a Honda that's why people call them soulless
-
What i'm asking is what has had to be replaced prematurely apart from the top yolk that was just unfortunate but i would have drilled that snapped bolt out.
-
Yes that was a bit odd but that being said i don't think I've ever owned a bike that had lock tight on those pinch bolts and i don't use it there myself
-
What have you had to do to the bike to consider it unreliable all I've seen you do is what i would consider maintenance
-
Mine are pretty good the main things i look out for is wheel bearings and suspension bearings. In the conditions we have here to ride in if you not greasing them regular your changing them regular
-
And that explains why you've had so many bikes
-
That's what happens when you take the dirt roads Pete it's not a bike being unreliable it's just a case of increased maintenance and punctures can happen to any vehicle. If the tire was tubeless it probably would have stayed up long enough to finish the day off and if it didn't it would have been a 5 min job to repair.
-
Punctures come and go I've gone years without one and then get 3 in a few weeks hopefully you've had yours for this year now
-
That was my subtle hint that we have a place here where you can take photos of planes like that with your both feet on the ground
-
Was that taken on the mach loop ?
-
Sooo are you going to put it on and show it off for us
-
If your feeling the cold @MooN keep an eye out for a heated jacket it transforms a cold ride

Some people have done some real nice bar conversions. i can see local pubs continuing to suffer after this lockdown because People are comfortable doing things at home now and may never go back to being a regular at a pub.
