  1. Decided to go up to Kitt Hill for their first Sunday in the month bike meet. Lone wolf today as Shadow is working and the Fowey geriatric bikers group have been out once this week. Anyway had a great ride up on the Hornet, love that bike. Tried out the Honda Road App and worked well for nav, still don’t really know how to control music with it or really care that much but will persevere. The nav directions came through to my lid and directional arrows came through on the bikes screen. Clever stuff I thought. Lovely old Wing Morini 3•5 was for sale for 3k . I liked it but not that much. Triumph Street RS in a nice colour
  2. Thrown in the deep end tonight but it turned out ok. Had a message in the week as there was a Lifeboat event on the quay. 200 years celebration. Anyway my group was asked to sing a few songs after the Vicar did her bit. We rocked up to a packed town quay, bit more of an event than just a few songs. Went well so all good in the end. After there was a band called Johnny and the Lips. Apparently Johnny was the wizened up old bass player who was in the Commitments from the film. Brilliant band all the same, brass section and all. Shame I had to come home to go to work. Working Sunday night as well but don’t have any other plans yet.

No sign of a bridge there now. I remember seeing some film clips of one of the races there years ago. No safety precautions back in the 1950's
  4. No sooner had Shadow and I got back from Davidstow last night then I got a message from my mate to say a few of the Fowey lot were going up to Damerells. So off we went again but on the Hornet this time. We met at 4Turnings garage at 6pm where my mate Andy turned up on his new bike, a 2015 Triumph 900 Thruxton. Very nice indeed. Also Gary on his 1973 Bonniville and Martin on his V85TT. We rode over to Bodmin then up the A30 to Indian Queen’s, stuck at 70 as Gary can’t see over that speed due to the vibes. Place was packed when we got there, 100+ bikes I would guess Nice survivor GS1000E I like this Oil Head RT, Very nice Victory, I think they generally look way cooler than Polaris’s Indian replacements. Still have an itch for a Blackbird After Damerells Andy suggested that there was a bike meet a couple of miles down the road to a Cider Farm. So off we went only to crash a private party and were asked to leave. Walk of shame.

I think it is because it was originally built on common land and it returned to that after the war. I think they held motorsport their in the 1950's even hosting I Grand Prix. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davidstow_Circuit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Davidstow_Moor

I do have a son, not sure he is a rainbow though. Suppose greasy gobshite twat doesn't really go with Sunshine and Shadow.

It's not to bad really only about 25 miles away, just the roads aren't great and we have to ride through Bodmin and Camelford. Disused WW2 airfields on common land aren't that common, well down here anyway

I’m thinking of moving to Davidstow airfield. Spent 6 hours up there in the last two days. Firstly spent 3 hours up there on Wednesday teaching my oldest daughter to drive, who I am going to call Sunshine in comparison to my Shadow. Sunshine is such a joy to be around, but she is going to take awhile to pick up all aspects of car control. Now Shadow, ever competitive, was not happy I spent three hours with Sunshine. So yesterday’s riding lesson had to last the same time. To be fair to Shadow I hardly saw her, she came back every half an hour or so to touch base but soon headed off again. She is doing well up and down the gears confidently with good clutch control. I’m going to get some cones and do some CBT style manoeuvres to get ready for her test at the end of August. I took a tarp and laid it down so I ended up chilling and listening to podcasts for hours. The question of lowering the CB125F has gone away as Shadow is happy with her lowered seat. She says she feels much more confident and feels she is not sitting on top of the bike anymore but part of it instead. If she is happy that is good enough for me. After her three and a half hours and 35 miles, of course she had to do more than Sunshine, Shadow needed feeding, apparently feeling faint So a 45 minute ride down to Fraddon for a Maccies. I have come to the conclusion that 80 + miles two up on a CB125F is not fun, our combined weight is close to 23 stone, a lot for 10hp to drag around. The bike does it without fuss but it is a suboptimal set up. At one point Shadow was annoyed that another 125 passed us and wanted to know why. I explained because of my heavy ass,

Here's the add, more than a year old but I am sure this is the one he was on about https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-details/202407151800748?sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_bikes&make=Triumph&model=Speed Triple 1200&postcode=PL23 1EQ&price-from=9500&price-to=10000&fromsra

No I have seen the add in Autotrader 9.5K for a Speed 1200, with extras the original price was close to £18K. Couldn't quote chapter and verse but I will look for the add.

    Cleanish

I have the detergent bottle that came with my Karcher pressure washer but it's pretty shit, I always find it a faff getting the washer out with extension leads hoses and the like, thought the pump up bottle was worth a try. Works pretty well IMHO, dunno how long it will last. May get a proper snow foam bottle and lance in the future but going to play it by ear for the minute.

Good looking bike, enjoy it. Reckon you will get the first service in before Christmas. Still trying to understand why you bought the 1200 as well? One of my work mates is looking at trading his Tiger 900 for one, just over a year old and 8k less than the new price. Someone took a helluva spanking on that one.

    Cleanish

Waited for the heat to pass over then out polishing my Honda Turd again. Roughly 1000 miles since the last time. Coming up cleaner each time. I got one of those Snow Foam bottles I have seen advertised, only £7 on Amazon. Works surprisingly well for what it is. Saves pulling the pressure washer out just to do a bike. Don’t think it would be that practical for doing a car but I will give it a try. After I dried it experimented using GT85 to coat it rather than ACF50.
  22. Not in this heat mate
