  1. On the 1150, being a dry clutch, I used to put 10w60 Castrol, a motorsport oriented oil for M car engines, worked great with smoother engine and no consumption.
  2. He was just baiting you, all bikes are Harleys
  3. Oil makes a huge difference. when I drove a track car, it was a small 1.9 liter 4 cylinder being driven hard on a fast track. Oil temp would get to 140° on fast laps, and I used to do that for an hour straight before stopping, a few times per day. On that car I used Silkolene, Castrol worked as well. Everything else would go warmer and come out darker. Silkolene would come out looking the sane as going in. On my bike and the previous 1150, I put Castrol or BMW branded stuff while it was being done on the dealership, up until a couple of years ago that used to be Castrol. This bike doesn’t use oil, but if it starts in the middle of a trip you can find Castrol anywhere, and although you can mix same grade synthetic oils I don’t like to.
  4. I’ve got a similar one, works great indeed.
  5. @Tym, is it still a race if the other guy isn't aware?
  6. I know, that’s what I meant about not imagining touring on a single...
  7. Right, I forgot that was an XT, but I was thinking of not having ridden a 500 or 600. To be honest, the only one I'm curious about right now is the 700, after the GS I can't even imagine touring on a single
  8. They were going to open on the 14th but only to Moroccan expats or emigrants returning home, but that was ok since I was only maybe going at the end of September. Thing is, if Spain starts to be troublesome again, it's going to make this difficult because firstly I have to go through Spain to catch the boat, and secondly because borders might close again. Also, Portuguese people might not even be allowed there still, I don't know, this is all a fucking mess.
  9. Get a big one and call it a garage
  10. My heart is with a XT500 as an old school trail bike. Never rode any XT, but just love the way they look.
  11. I was half thinking I might still make it to Morocco this year, but now I'm seriously doubting it. Bit selfish with people dying left and right, I know, but there you go.
  12. I have a filthy mind
  13. That bike looks so clean up close, makes me a little jealous
  14. All these names, I feel like the guys landing on the planet of the apes and not understanding what kind of world they’re in.
  15. It's got it's place, lots of people ride bikes on long motorway trips and commute to cities, this is just another thing to make their life easier. Me? I love my cruise control, apart from being great on the motorway I use it around town and country roads to adjust my gloves or zip up or down my jacket, get the phone out and onto the handlebars, etc, really useful. Not to mention standing up and adjusting underwear in hot days This technology helps safety equipment become more advanced and less intrusive, so if you're using your bike on somewhere with plenty of traffic, oil or diesel spillage, frost, etc, it'll just become better at saving you without actually being annoying.
  16. It's ok with me, we'll just write it down as Bagheera
  17. Patrols are very popular around here, the saying is that some forest fires are a myth, some are just smoke caused by a Nissan Patrol climbing his way up a rocky trail Welcome!

    Buckster?

In a lot lesser scale, I can sort of relate to that from when I spent all my money and free time making my track car ready and safe to go on track, only to have shit happen regardless. Some wine helps you with that ... and some rust preventive product probably helps the boat as well
