I had the original Versys 1000 and whilst it wasn’t the best looking bike I’ve ever owned it went like a rocket, was built like a tank and super comfy. Perfect road bike.
I agree mate, the thing that kicked it all off was the husband waited until I’d gone out on my bike and then accused my wife of doing something to their postbox. He was pretty nasty apparently so when I came home and found my missus really upset I went a bit mental and threatened to lump him and demanded an apology which him and his missus refused to do. We did our best to just get on with things but he then accused her of pushing things through the garden wall.
That was the final straw and I told him and his missus to fuck off and not bother either of us again. Seems he’s got the message.
Sounds pretty much the same as here in Murcia. The people are very friendly and if you fit in and make an attempt at a bit of Spanish they appreciate it. Never had a problem with a Spaniard in the six years we've been down here however we do have a problem with one of our British neighbours. What a pair of fucking idiots they've turned out to be! So much so that we haven't spoken for months and walk right past them in the street without any contact...........although I am sorely tempted to punch the fuck out of him; he's just got that kind of face you'd be happy to slap. ?
Cheers for that and I know they’re popular in France but I’ve got a TL1000S on UK plates coming over asap so I do t really want to import two bikes. I think I’ll have to see what’s available locally.........and be less choosy! ?
That'll do the job nicely Pete. The 650 VStrom is nice but not what I'm after, a bit heavy off road plus I wouldn't get one for the money I'm looking to spend.
Yeah, not sure really. I'll pop up to the sanitorium for a catch up that's for sure but I've decided to sell the Himalayan and have a couple of possible buyers so first thing will be to get the bike sold so I can replace it with something else. The Himalayan is great but I'm just missing the extra oomph of a 650 sized engine. Quite fancy a DR650 but it'll depend on what's available and at what price.
The other thing I'll be doing is getting my TL1000S over here from the UK as soon as possible.
I know where it is mate and it’s fenced off to the public as far as I can remember. It’s right in the middle of the woods and went walking past it. Definitely spooky.
As far as I’m concerned the ‘adventure’ but if a bike is in your head. It’s about how the bike and the trip your making, either long or short, easy or difficult, makes you feel.
Nothing wrong with a Harley adventure mate ?
