  1. I’m half n half. I’m certain it’s saved me from a proper mess at least once. The time where you close your eyes cos there’s nothing left in the brakes (apart from skid) and nowhere else to go except the painful impact and somehow it worked it’s devilish skill and youre still alive. Can’t fault that. But in some circumstances you forget to turn it off (ands that your bad) and the stupid slidey shit that can help you doesn’t happen- brrrr, good luck. The brakes and ABS on the Himalayan are so bad ( I mean baaaad), in serious situations once the brakes have done their crappy most and you are unfortunate enough that the abs kicks in it’s so ridiculously calibrated it may well chuck you off. It’s ONNNN.. OFFFFF.. ONNNN... OFFFF.. so slow to arrive and yet so strongly applied unless you’re in a straight line it’s gonna seriously shake your tail. But most people aren’t so dumb and do turn the abs off or ride in a manner inkeeping with the bikes ability so yer mainly the awfulness of abs is only my fault
  2. Is a tomos like a honda c90 in the fondness stakes?
  3. Not yet will be looking to take one for a test ride and crap pics will undoubtedly follow
  4. Indian is no joke, I could definitely have an Indian.
  5. I want to make a joke about convicts but reckon it’s better suited to the un pc thread
  6. You really do live in a beautiful area.
  7. Now that is a PIE! You gotta have faith in the integrity of your pastry to fill ‘em that high! A worthy stop me thinks.
  8. Looks like its a problem with Islamic extremism and perceived secularism. Nearly 300 people killed and over 1000 injured in France in 8 yrs. Sad. Is there any indication of how long youre gonna be limited to 10km or are you just locked down til the figures drop?
  9. Why are the police being targeted by terrorists?
  10. The Mutt tis a Japanese engine- Suzuki GN125 12bhp. Some parts are British (I think its mainly the exhaust and the seat) and pretty much everything else is chinese. The exhaust sound is excellent, nothing like a 125.
  11. How long can I avoid doing any chain maintenance without it possibly causing damage?
  12. 5years is good. I don’t understand why when they make a 125 they dont use the full 14.6bhp allowance. Why only give it 9.2bhp?
  13. Shit Free For All might be a better fit
  14. How often does it needs to be done? I know its going to vary depending on road conditions but any idea on the maximum time you can leave it?
  15. How do you know when you need a new chain and what sort of chain you’ve got? What’s the easiest (not necessarily the cheapest) thing to clean a chain with cos I hate doing it and want the job to be over with as quickly as possible?
  16. Yeah I clocked that on google maps and I may well be going that way cos my sister in law lives in Huntly so will probably end up in speed camera hell! Then again if Millward does go over the border I’ll be doing the west side so who knows
  17. Oh dear, there there, just think of all the cosmic goodness coming your way for such an act of kindness.... or it would be if that was what I was referring to, I meant an electric tyre pump
  18. Yer I’m thinking about trading it in for the 250 but cant quite part with it.
  19. I want one but dunno which one to go for?
  20. A thread for anything relating to the NC500. If you’ve done part or all of it or are planning to do it stick it here. Pics and trip tales most welcome. I imagine with the lockdown my contribution will eventually be something like- it was hideously busy, couldn’t find a place to sleep, was eaten alive by midges, did it as quickly as possible and got the hell out of there but I intend to spend the next 3 weeks daydreaming before I get to the untinted reality
  21. Taking the Himalayan for its first MOT Saturday. Got the Bandit booked in for a full service plus MOT ahead of doing LEJOG, theyre going to stick a dual USB charging point on there and a gear indicator because its so smooth in 5th you could easily be in 4th or 6th and I’ve had enough of it. I was certain it would become clear after Id been riding it a while, its bloody obvious on the other bikes but its just not on this one. Someone I consider to be a good rider said they found the same with their Bandit and ended up fitting one too so I’m not alone in finding it irritating. Love doing stuff to or having stuff done on my bike. Getting something for your bike is the best prezzie in the world, IMO nothing else even comes close
  22. Id like to tell you but its chinese and mentioning it might wake Buckster Its a Mutt Hilts, yes I bought it based purely on its looks
  23. I see your “if it costs nothing it has no value” and I raise you- he knows “the cost of everything and the value of nothing”
