  1. Yep they did this time but had no interest in seeing any other covid paperwork!
  2. Welcome @Jed hope you enjoy it. They’re all about the pics on here, mainly due to illiteracy so feel free to post some of your bike pics or any crayon drawings. Just try not to use words with more than two syllables in any of the descriptions
  3. No border issues, just rode around it Bit of excess info here so I’d skip this bit unless you’re travelling abroad - it was so much more civilised than the chaos at the airport, far more relaxed, they check your vaccination status and your locator form with your passport, took moments. There is some difficulty for British folk with residency elsewhere as the border staff don’t have their head around other countries requirements and are demanding proof of vaccination when it’s not required so if you want to travel smoothly then just comply with the UK regs. The two key pieces of paper (which need to be printed as they don’t seem to understand/trust the apps) are your proof of vaccination and passenger locator form with a QR code on it. They don’t seem to be scanning them so feck knows why they want to see it but they do I do like that too though, crispy air and sunshine, lovely… if you’ve remembered your thermals So far so good. The extra luggage weighing on the Himalayan has effected the acceleration and top speed, stick some decent elevations into the equation and full throttle is umm well let’s just say far from exciting I’m guessing that the really high elevations might be effecting the mix. Those higher than high moments aside they’re running great, once you’ve made the adjustment from much more powerful bikes the Himalayan is a smile a mile, so easy to ride and endlessly trustworthy in any conditions so it’s just lovely to sit on and be transported along looking at the views! 🏔 Viva la Himalayan!
  4. No need for directions, they’re everywhere and I can see the appeal so maybe doomed myself!
  5. Valdepenas. About here. Much warmer now! Traffic round Madrid is mental! Starting off in this today Finishing up a few hours later in this 🏍
  6. Currently staying in a less than lovely place but the owners are nice folk, just not too handy on the upkeep front, it was chosen cos bikes are parked outside your door and as we know they come first
  7. So close. Just a bit more tomoz. Might even have some helmet cam footage whoop whoop!
  8. Absolutely, full blast most of the year, wot can I say?!
  9. What can one say apart from.. I’m washing my hair? Thanks @Tango not heard that one for a while
  10. All good, honestly the predicted “moderate to rough” crossing was like being rocked in a cradle.. if babies can drink a bottle of Chablis or two before being rocked
  11. Afternoon guys n gals Quick update cos its on my mind Ive not updated you mingers losers proper write up later. Made it to Santander yesterday afternoon to lovely sunshine. Stripped off everything possible to discover dimbo here didnt think about altitude.. ffffreezing On our way to Valdepeñas now and sod the scenic route, the fastest route to the warmth is in order Stopped for a coffee to warm my hands (my first coffee for years, it smells so nice and tastes so gross!) cos they dont serve tea, honestly wot weirdos! The roads are clear n smooth, couldnt be happier… cud b warmer tho
  12. Not fancying it at the moment so any help appreciated
  13. Blimey O’reilly! Took me a minute to acknowledge he’s riding at that speed and they’d not just sped up the footage
  14. Looking dicey on the ferry front tomoz, theyve not cancelled yet but the red gale force warning areas are creeping down the left side of the country and Plymouth is now “moderate, occasionally rough” which sounds like a lot of people I know Anyone with a connection to any deity put a word in wuddya?
  15. Because pointing out the perceived flaws of other countries is a national pastime whatever country you’re in, an exercise in self preening superiority. Plus child massacre upsets people wherever it happens. Sorry Tym @Mawsleys post made me laugh a lot, maybe give it more than a second
  16. We live in hope! Depends on the forecast whether the ferry runs or not and its not looking delightful at the moment!
  17. My son is coming back from uni for a weekend. The sudden purchasing of ingredients for recipes I know he loves and a strong desire to cry leads me to believe I may have missed him a lot more than Ive acknowledged So definitely lots of cooking and laughter for me and a bit of reloading the bikes for the ferry on Sunday Looks like itll be nice weather.. for ducks!
  18. That explains the trash talking skills
  19. What bliss and the complete opposite of my experience I returned to my accommodation that morning to a steady stream of people wanting to come into my room because a couple of years earlier Id made the maintenance guy a cup of coffee and in return he volunteered to hook my tv to the main aerial on the top of a block of flats so I was the only one with a decent tv reception, everyone else had varying amounts of snow and hiss. I was never a Lady Di fan. It was the most excruciating two days worth of people watching my tv, crying and not leaving. The ridiculousness of the hysteria was being played out on repeat in my bedroom ad nauseum. I left them my room keys and drove over 100miles to get away from it ps When I got back they had found my snack drawer and eaten the flipping lot. Remembered to clean it out before I did a bunk on the day of her funeral!
