Here is a pic with the pan on @Pedro, the bike doesnt overheat, the radiator could cool an American v/8, its just this bike is famous for dumping all the heat on the rider.. without the pan all the heat goes out the bottom now! Im very happy with the results

Even worse, Kawasaki dint use UV inhibitors when they molded the KLR's plastic's. If you dont keep a KLR in a garage it will freckle and fade. The 2oo4 KLR's Red plastic went to pink within weeks of ownership...

Thats a really good question..they are made out of cheap plastic and they tend to disintergrate if you over torque the nuts...

This is weird i can only find one KLR using the gas tank i ordered, its from Rider mags KLR they used in the 1990's. i get to use my crash bars and stock body work. Every other KLR on the planet with an IMS tank uses this hideous 6.6 gallon abortion. Cant use my happy trails crash bars? Meh... Why bother...ps whats up with the garbage cans on the back?

Probably, the euro version was called the GTR if im not mistaken, and had differnet specs, my original Key say's GTR on it...butt officiailly its known as the ZG1000 StateSide™ after 1994....less sport more soft tourer for our interstate type rides...

l had from another project just the right size and thickness stainless steel plate...ground the edges,stuck it on, perfect...

You notice the weight of the fuel on this thing for sure, its being carried so high...

Plus its all top heavy weight! Im done with this chit! Why of Mother Earth do i need 7 freaking gallons of gas to cruise locally!?! Getting ready fir my Saturday night, all i need is 2.5 gallons imho 7 out, 2.5 in, easy peasy.... One problem im running a Pingle™ petcock in order to flow more fuel, it doesnt have a reserve position... When she sputters, shes out..... Dont matter each gallon is 6.2 pounds of dead weight
