  1. You need to stamp your feet..........oh!
  2. I watch allsorts of bike related videos. Adventurers, bike reviews, bike repairs, etc. There are so many to chose from that I tend to go back to certain YouTubers that I find entertaining or informative.
  3. We also visited the cemetery where my great uncle is buried, who was killed during the retreat to Dunkirk. I was also shocked by the number of graves inscribed "Here lies a soldier, known only to god"! I would guess that 30% of the graves there (British and French) were inscribed with that! Very sobering!
  4. Definitely. They fought against fascism and here it is again! Not just the UK, it's widespread and very worrying!
  5. I had 2 uncles that were in the Royal Navy during WW2, they never really spoke about their experiences. I also met a number of older chaps who had served in various services during WW2 when I was doing my apprenticeship. Very few of them spoke about their experiences. There was a chap in one of the electrical wiring departments who was rumoured to have been in the Long Range Desert Group, but he never spoke about the war. He was a very quiet fellah, very softly spoken and not very tall, but there was something about him that no one ever tried to push him. His foreman was a right arse to everyone else, but tip toed around the old chap! So maybe there was something to the rumours.
  6. I think so, Pete, but I don't think that they go out of their way to draw attention to themselves!
  7. We stopped off there a couple of years back @MooN. We spent a couple of days there and didn't really scratch the surface of what's to see there. We stayed in an hotel right on Sword beach in Luc-sur-mer for a few nights. Apparently the hotel was the local Nazi headquarters during WW2. Recommend visiting Arromanches-les-Bains, where there's still remains of the floating docks that the Allies constructed in the days following D-Day. Very interesting.
  8. We got our water bill in the other day, it was eye watering! Still can't work out how we were supposed to use that amount of water! There doesn't appear to be a leak in the supply to the house and we've not got any leaks in the house, so I've no idea where that water has gone!
  9. My missus phoned our doctors on Wednesday for an appointment, we've just been this afternoon and it wasn't an emergency visit, she just needed a repeat prescription and to ask him about a couple of other things. The health service is being deliberately run down in the UK now and has been for some while!
  10. I had an Octavia Vrs estate many years ago and I really liked it. The boot was huge. The only problem with it was that it was the diesel engined one and it didn't like a lot of town driving. The DPF would choke up and sometimes I just couldn't regenerate it. Other than that it was a good car.
  11. Not good mate. I hope that they can sort her out soon. Best wishes to her, Pete.
  12. Audi Avant S4? Skoda Octavia Vrs Estate?
  13. How did you catch it? I thought that you avoided people..........or they avoid you!
  14. One of my old colleagues had a Forester (not STi) for a while. He couldn't wait to get rid of it! Check the reliability of them before getting too excited!
  15. I thought that you'd had the flu jab?
