Well: did you lot know: Portugal is the oldest country in Europe, borders unchanged since 1139 . Ruled the largest empire covering 4 Continents. Lisbon founded 400 years before Rome. Abolished the death penalty in 1867.. A real country with values. Just getting back into my love of History... Rock on Pedro::: Lyn. And i have never been to Portugal::::Why.

Now Im partial to hydraulic lifters , seems like a drain in the wallet department if you ask me having to adjust valves every year...lifters have there limits but for a low reving engine ...I think it's the way to go...

Son: "Daddy, I fell in love and want to date this awesome girl!" Father: "That's great son. Who is she?" Son: "It's Sandra, the neighbor's daughter" Father: "Ohhh I wish you hadn't said that. I have to tell u something son, but you must promise not to tell your mother. Sandra is actually your sister. "The boy is naturally bummed out, but a couple of months later. Son: "Daddy, I fell in love again an she is even hotter!" Father: "That's great son. Who is she?" Son: "It's Angela, the other neighbor's daughter." Father: "Ohhhh I wish you hadn't said that. Angela is also your sister." This went on couple of times and the son was so mad, he went straight to his mother crying. Son: "Mum I am so mad at dad! I fell in love with six girls but I can't date any of them because dad is their father!" The mother hugs him affectionately and says: "My love, you can date whoever you want. Don't listen to him He isn't your father."

Yes those boxers are nice for that....the 950 were supposably checked at the first service...tell you the thruth ,I don't believe they even done it now, by the amount of time the bike was in the shop...lol.... It's something now I diffetnly check into...looked at a few videos and that valve service on the triumph don't look to complicate at all...not much stuff to remove or required any special tools...it has rocker arms...unlike the ktm engine we're the cam is sitting directly on the bucket shim..needing to remove cams for any shims swop out...

I don’t check any of that in detail. I do care if anything that needs to be done regularly takes a lot of time, as with time it’ll eventually be easier to skip it and I hate that. Also I don’t think it’s that good if you have to disassemble a lot of plastics every other oil change, the GS is great for checking valves, 10 minutes of labour to get to them. Also the clutch, but everything else is a faff. Here there are a lot of Africa Twins and other parallel twins that never had valves checked as it’s such a long process to just get to them. I hate that.

I let the dealers do the first service then I took over. Blue TDM had a recall on the TPS and the XT1200 had a front brake recall of some sort, all free. There was a deal with the first service that I only paid parts, that offer disappeared with the tracer which will prob be the last bike I'll have.

The nightmare started when I decided to remove the SAS system and stock muflers...must have lost and entire summer and part of another one ,trying to make it run right...it's basically how I found myself on OC...
-
The cost of regular maintenance to keep the factory warranty alive when you purchase a new motorcycle , or is that though isn't part of your decision ? I still remember when I bought that 950 so many years ago , having the nearest dealer 1 thousand km away ...it wasn't...I was in love with that motorcycle....I knew that I would be doing the service... Was reading up on this Ducati street bike...man !!...somone has to be rich to owne one of those...
-
I'd be really interested to see how those baffles are put together for curious sake...
- Last week
-
Every Harley factory muffler I have seen has been welded.
-
Herfoss literally rides into people.
-
Indian has just launched a official complaint....they just found a miss routed oil line on smiths bike...
-
Bob in my years of owning motorcycles....it's a first for me...I've never seen or heard of a mufler baffle helled together with banana rivets....with that heat and vibration and massive engine pulses ...what were they thinking ?
-
You could probably use peel-back rivets ?
-
Race two ....here's a Race highlight if anyone missed it... Harley are up to there old habits of cheating...Bradley Smith was running blocker ...soon has Gillim got close to take the lead...Smith deployed the old oil slick on the race track trick....puking oil out of his air filter....it's a shame Harley have to resort to this ....very disappointed this morning.
-
Not saying anything about race 2?

I’m looking at a £20 increase to include the cams and a reduced excess so I’m not overly upset.
