So unlike you to go off on one and fuck everything up for yourself. You stable genius you.
  3. It's was a lovely sunny afternoon here but it's my Mrs's birthday today. Probably not the best day to fuck off on the bike
  4. Yes....lol...Pete and Phil were pissed and I was promptly demoded...lol.

    BOTM needs you

Me to mate, I was a Mod on https://www.uksaabs.co.uk/UKS/index.php Haven't had a Saab for years now, miss those cars, lots of fun back in the day here.
  8. What could possibly go wrong?
  9. Very simple Saul , people forget I was once a .moderator...lol....unfortunately my carree didn't last long after trying to ban the owners of the site...lol.
  10. They will have Catu 2 wards somewhere mate, with respect that's for them to sort if you request it.
  11. Sorry to hear your wife is having health issues Clive, I hope she recovers OK and life gets as back to normal as it can. As above try adult social services and poss occupational health. We had to do it for my mum, they weren't perfect but they did help with various things to help her mobility. We had to buy a bed which can be raised and lowered tho. Some of the stuff is eye wateringly expensive. They were reasonably good with arranging home visits by a nurse to change dressings etc.
  12. Everything is centralised at King's Mill hospital, the others in Mansfield, or close by in the surrounding area were closed down years ago (Forest hospital...Ransom hospital....Harlow Wood to name the few I know) King's Mill became part or the Sherwood Hospital trust, which includes Newark hospital. As to respite care, I ain't got a clue where someone would go, or even if they had a place for respite cases..
  13. @Clive I have sent some reading material to help you by PM.
  14. @Clive you could also ask for her to be put into a Cat 2 ward for respite care (normally in a small local hospital) until there is suitable provision (assessed by Adult Social Services) for her at home.

    BOTM needs you

I will do it if no one else want to. I would appreciate your help for the first Month @Pedro if no one else steps up.

  17. You need to get hold of Adult Social Services Clive which are part of the local authority (council), plus there are other agencies. PM me your email and I will forward the links to you. You can challenge the discharge if you feel you don't have safe provision for your wife. Sounds hard but you would be doing it for the best reasons. You have to say, no she can't come home until there is a care package in place, you have to say you cannot cope and it is not safe for her or you. You will have to explain to them that the only place she can sleep is the sofa which is not safe or suitable. First two weeks of the package is already funded without assessment. You will probably get it ongoing depending on your benefits and the assessment of Adult Social Services. Age Concern and Citizens Advice will help. It's stressful mate but you will get what is needed if you stick to your guns. Horrible that you have to do so but that is the way of things in England. If you want to discuss more PM me and I will put you in touch with my Mrs who is sorting out something very similar for her Mum.
  18. Sorry to hear about all that, Clive.
  19. Think I broke Pedro with the qwad...lol.
  20. Bugger! I could have took a photo on my epic ride to the hospital today.......I parked in the bike/motorcycle area, next to a R1, when I came out after visiting time he/she had moved the bike along 2 places!.
  21. Looks like a job for @Six30, unfortunately he flounced like a pussy. Better call @Saul
  22. Our bungalow is OAP friendly, wide doors for wheelchair users, pull cord alarms in every room, and taps that help with poor strength and grip. As I may have said earlier, there are 6 of these bungalows, 5 out of the 6 have a Wet Room, guess which one does not?, we did apply for one when my wife's knees were bad, but it was refused by the housing association. She cannot lay in in our bed, she can't get in or out of it, so if they discharge her tomorrow it will be back to sleeping on the sofa. Red Cross says they are coming to see her at home, if! she is at home...........NHS, providing no help........what a shit show.
  23. Thankfully she would never get insurance for my car in the UK. She will have to get some sort of 1.0 litre car and then it won't be cheap. I don't blame her, she had a real health scare before Christmas and hasn't got her confidence back yet, hopefully she will. I will be keeping the bike around until October when she will have to reinsure it if she doesn't we will talk about it then.
  24. May I suggest one of these.
  25. Think we all or most started off with motorcycle has are first mode of independence transportation....and its just a normal progression to a better mode....no rain gear and freezing your arse off ...lol..my boys after they got their first cars did stop riding for sometime..then it became a sport or a hobby and eventually started riding again...think your car is about to see a definite increase in millage ...lol.
  26. I hope so too, perhaps a bit of sun will help change her mind.
