Harley have a 76ci motor that puts out 150hp, if they put that in a bagger then they could easily tune it to 180hp, with an increase to say 95ci they could see 200hp.

Might has well compare the 1250 from the pan-am to ktm 1290 , in no way shape or form the 1250 displacement could be increased to 97ci , it would need to be totally redesigned and would be a completely new engine...in your dreams Buckwheat...lol.

Just pointing out the fact they have a 76ci motor that is more powerful than the upcoming Indian 117. They can upscale it if they want to, they have the means.

More hp , but way less torque, maybe they will eventually make something, but selling overweight and fitting with a crapy running engine is Harley bread winner, I doubt you'll see a fully liquid cooled touring bike from Harley any time soon ....

They can tune the revmax for more torque and it would still have more power than any snow mobile engine.

Would you stop with your non- sence , Harleys gen 2 m8's are exploding left and right , due to poor shit parts , cranks breaking in half , oil pumps failing like cnn TV rating...go look and Harley forums if you don't believe me....

The oil pump problem was addressed 5 years ago, as usual you are talking shite.

The oil pump is only 1 of many problems with these engines, literally junk , you can't even do 20 thousand miles without a major engine failure...and you know it ...ive heard through reliable source harleys top lead engineer, that they acquired two powerplus engine from Indian and they are reverse engenring them in a secret location somewhere in the Nevada...

Really, are they going to address the rocker arm issues, the flywheel problems, the cold starting issues, fuel pump problems, just look at the forums, they are utter shite?

Hey its a new engine, a few bugs are expected...all those issues have been resolved,  unlike Harley who tell there customer...its all normal having and crank vibrate apart at 20 thousand miles....what you are failing to recognize is that indian uses a one piece forge crank and Harleys are still using a press pin crank...soon has any little increase in power output those things explode through the side case....

All v-twin engines have a crank pin, some are welded and some are pressed, if you were a mechanic you would know that. Indian use both welded and pressed crank pins. Harley had a problem with the early oil pumps which caused sumping on the M8 and crank bearing failure. All dealt with years ago. Incidentally S&S have gone back to pressed pin cranks for all their high power applications with zero failures. Indian had a real problem with their flywheels which they get from China.

By the  way no engine components are from China....get your fact straight...you are starting to sound like the BBC....lol

The powerplus is all American steel made in house in America...

Anyway Buck even someone like you with little mechanical know-how can tell you a steel one piece crank is way stronger than a pin press or a welded one....

I have significantly more mechanical knowledge than you, you are basically a tyre fitter that pretends to be a mechanic.

A forged crank has some advantages but you still need to machine the wrist pin, I prefer fully machined flywheels. Here is the difference, the Indian crank assembly looks like it is made of Lego by comparison.

Indian.

Don't know Buck but the Indian crank looks way more solid than the Harley one...Harley crank looks like its held together with pop rivets..

Well answer this Mr Scotty , why everyone who know anything about Harleys and who are doing any serious engine upgrades ....the first thing they change out is the crank to a welded one....
