    Texas and back

Things I learned about Texas - 1) The riding kinda sucks. Straight, featureless roads that go on for miles 2) The people that live there are beyond friendly and super nice. We were amazed at how hospitable everyone was. 3) Food is pretty damned good - never had a bad meal! Same for New Mexico. 4) I'll be back..... but not on a bike.

Right at 500 miles today, and I'm finally home. Stopped in northern New Mexico on the way for a snack and fuel. Today was sunny and warm thew entire day - great day for a long ride...
  3. At least my burps and farts don't smell like cum. Now that's gay.

Kinda weird. But here in Santa Fe the elevation is 6,700'feet. It's a lot colder when you're over a mile high. That's the difference. It got sunny and about 45F in the mid afternoon today. rather pleasant. But still had 35 mph winds so riding would be no fun. Tomorrow should be sunny all day and allow us to get back to Colorado with no issues.

I'm riding to Las Vegas in 2 weeks - if it snows then, I'm gonna kill someone. Seems I just can't escape the snow no matter where I go.

I'll probably head out in the truck in awhile and try to find something to do. Had planned on local riding today but that's pretty much out now. More pics later.....

It's Saturday morning now and Dave and Debbie are heading back to Indy today while we stay here another night. They were gonna leave this morning but it's snowing like a bitch here now, so their departure is delayed. Slushy roads are cold so they are gonna wait until noon and hope for warmer weather....

Later in the walk and I think I bowed at the alter of Satan. So probably back to a net zero as far as church visitations go ....

Took a walk around town after dinner and stopped by another old church. Two churches in one day - I should be good for another 2-3 years now....

Our first day in Santa Fe was an off the bikers day. Hired a truck to get around in and went to Chimayo, NM to see the old church there...

There's a reason for that. Riding blows there. We didn't see any the whole time we were there.

Got up before the sun on Thursday for the 8 hour slog north to Santa Fe. Warm when we left but the weather turned to shit once we got into New Mexico, Temps dropped and the winds got fierce again....

Weather back home is bad so we're going to stay here for 3 days and wait for the snow to melt a bit. Dave and Debbie head back Friday morning. Going to rent a car to get around here for a few days as the weather is gonna be a bit iffy. More pics later.........

Made to Santa Fe , some 425 miles later, in time for dinner. Food was beyond fantastic, so it was worth the hardship of getting here....

Moral of the story; Don't go to Texas on a motorcycle; just not worth it. Come to think of it - we didn't see any other bikes. So, we headed north on Thursday bound for New Mexico - started the day in 90F heat and ended it in rain and 45F. Winds were again about 40 mph and difficult to ride in - but it had to be done. Left Texas before sunrise...

Best feature of the Park was this wall of rock cliff thing. But it's actually in Mexico and not even in the Park . Can't even hike to it if you wanted to ....
