  1. We awoke to the news that there was snow in the hills! ? So once the ice on the bikes melted, we set off to see what we could find. The air was crisp and the sun ? was shining. As the morning rolled on, we rode through the trees ? until we reached the snow line. Then it was back down the mountain with a brief stop at an absolutely splendid scenic outlook.
  2. Today was a stormy day on the Sunshine Coast. But I still managed to have a great ride through the rain and wind. So windy... ?️ I was on my own so it was a short ride. I stopped at Smuggler's Cove to enjoy the view. ?
  3. WHO KNEW.....the SMELL....wow ? When we cracked the steering assembly it squirted out a scary brown liquid that should not have been there. By the looks of things the replacement couldn't have come at a better time. I have now ordered some new bearings for Bagheera as well... oh the stink......
  4. I guess I have been watching too many YouTube videos of people travelling on bikes that I figured I wasn't so special. The plan has been in the works for a bit and gets closer all the time. ? The next chapter in life looks epic! ? I will share the adventure for sure.
  5. It would be under warranty and is very common. There are a few ideas. Many say that two bolts are too short, some say the seal is no good. I will just check everything. I always planned on doing the work on my bike, to go to the dealer requires a day trip with ferries and then I would be with out a bike for weeks. I hope to travel / live on this bike in the future so I want to know every inch of the thing. ??
  6. Yes the cylinder head.... Engine block just sounds cooler.... ? I think the cylinder head cover assembly might be the problem.
  7. Well the tent <aka poor man's garage> is set up and ready for moto TLC. We will start on my partner's bike and get the bearings replaced. If all goes well I need to get Bagheera in the tent and see if I can torque down the engine block as it is leaking oil. It's either loose or the seal was shit to start. It sure is fun ordering parts from Hitchcocks, even though the Royal Enfield parts and bikes are made in India they can still classify them as "vintage" made in the UK..... so no duty! Golden! ?
  8. I'm full of surprises..... ? I aim to use both sides of my brain whenever possible! ?
  9. WOW.......those clouds are too much, HELLO BOTM pic.....just saying ?. That mud is also very nice! ?
  10. You and me both........?
  11. Thanks Pedro! The big labourer here is the logging mill and everything around it, the tug boats, the trucks, etc... There is a lot of construction as the rich people move here and never stop building their big homes. Then all those businesses need smart ladies like me to do their accounting. ? We are also a stones throw away from Vancouver which is a large city for Canada and a major port. There are also a lot of old folks retired here as it is the warmest place in Canada and they employ people to do everything for them. The visor is good, must be the light. Thanks for watching my weirdness! ?
  12. Had a nice ride yesterday, the forest sure feels like November now. All the trees are falling asleep. ??
  13. Great photos Pete! ? Hard to believe that is all empty. Cool stuff!
  14. Beautiful sky this evening on our dog walk. ?
  15. This month we have Bagheera on a misty forest road, resting beside a lovely waterfall. ?
  16. There are travel "suggestions" here, don't go out unless you have to kind of thing. You can "play" outside but keep it local and no groups. Not really a concern as we just go into the forest and don't play well with others anyways. ? So today we enjoyed a nice ride in the misty forest. Stopped at a waterfall for my BOTM pic and Bagheera wanted to take a shower.....? Plan to ride around tomorrow and Sunday as well as work on my next YouTube video "First Snow"
  17. Working on some new camera angles today. ??
  18. I'm not really into armrests, but I do love me some mudguards. ? I put fun red ones on my Fiat Abarth, looked awesome.
  19. Today was a day of puddles....super fun ride! ?
  20. In regards to the article that started this, I just thought it was a stupid reason to list on "when to buy a bike". There are too many women riders now for that old boys club shit. I know of a man in his early 60's who decided out of the blue to buy a bike. Then he decides to get a Ducati Monster for his first. Now this chap is not high on the active achiever list, so I can understand why in this case, his wife might just shake her head and renew his insurance policy. But then I also know of a women in her early 60's that decided to trade the Harley in for a dirt bike, to her husband's confusion and worry. She has now had to have her face stitched up and several other body parts as she keeps crashing. So it works both ways these days. ? As far as the financial factors, well that is up to each situation to decide, a magazine article can not help you with that. ?
