  5. I wasn't talking about buying from the UK i was asking about home delivery like we have here
  6. Surely you can order your brit stuff on line and have it delivered save you going there
  7. Thanks Bob but you forget i have a lathe that was my attempt at being funny I managed to save the bolt and i have just ordered some ground silver steel rod to make one. It has rotted out because i think water got in through the holes that the screws for the chain slider use as their only self tappers, it was full of water when i took it off so the new one will definitely have holes in the bottom and will be filled with wax oil or something similar before fitting
  8. I might be out on the Beta over the weekend as it's the only bike i have on the road at the moment if i do it will be muddy not sure where i'll head but that just adds to the adventure
  9. Last night i decided to change the swing arm on the Dog as there's a few holes in it again and i'm fed up of welding it. I 've had a good swing arm kicking around for about 5 years when i took the old one off i remembered why i hadn't changed it sooner, its because one of the bolts is seized in the collar it goes through, when i discovered this years ago the bearings were good so i fitted a grease nipple in there to keep them good. I decided to bite the bullet and cut the mounting bracket off but before i done that i had a look how much a new bolt and collar is in case its some ridiculous price, but not too bad the collar is £9.48 plus vat but the bolt is discontinued Parts 11 and 16 i'm after So the job is to at least save the bolt i put a shit load of heat on it but no joy so ended up welding the collar to a steel plate so i could hold it in the vice and with a large power bar it moved and eventually came out When i'd finished last night and sat down to order the parts i needed i discovered the collar is also discontinued fuck twat fuck i now have a dead dog in my garage if only i knew someone with a lathe
  10. No Advisories, are you sure i'm certain there is an advisory saying you are driving a shitroen Prickarsehole on there somewhere or is that always on there lol
  11. How can you have a first look in 2024 of a bike that hasn't changed in 31 years you been in a coma or something
  12. Edit Looking closer looks like it does
  13. Tidy would probably benefit from a bit of rubber glued to the part that goes under the swingarm
  14. I used to do some night shifts there, sometimes had call outs to work on top of these beasties, Kone conveyors for offloading coal and grain off the ships. I have fond memories of climbing up them in the dark blowing a gale on wet oil covered checker plate flooring with handrails that were only hip high and they were never horizontal when i had to go up them, not scary at all honest lol

    Rain

I think i'm getting the same way. I don't mind getting soaked from the ground up but i'm not a fan of getting soaked from the sky down anymore
  16. Sounds like your tied down more than someone doing a 9-5. Almost everyone i know who's self employed comes and goes as they please although there are ones i know that wont turn a job down and live in work. That's the one thing i look forward to is the weekend because i know i have two days of doing what i want, same in the weekdays after 4 work stops although i do find it hard to shut off sometimes if i have a complex job on. I get depressed as fuck when i get asked to work a weekend but it don't happen too often LOL. Hope it's worth your while.
  17. Please do in my opinion rain is a lot worse than snow and i was only out a few hours
  18. My foot was wet because of the dab in the puddle at the start, it went over the top of my boot, the forma adventure boots keep the water out just not when it goes over the top LOL
  19. The dog was due an oil and filter change after the last ride. Decided i'd ride the ridgeways to the heads of the valleys and back to warm it up it's about a 40 mile loop and quite scenic, it was cold and just started picking to rain as i left but i had my heated jacket and winter gloves on.Headed up onto my mountain where i came across a road closed sign in the middle of the road, i just went past that with my i'll decide if the road is closed on not head on this is why it was closed Not sure if there was ice around last night this is a steep hill with S bend on it you can see where the car hit the tree on the left in the above photo and the one below is looking back up from the car Almost lost the bike in the first big puddle on the byway and had to take a big dab ended up with a soaking wet foot and only 5 minutes in. As i headed to the ridgeway that runs from Bargoed to Pontlottyn the weather got colder and wetter if that's at all possible in Wales LOL As i headed up onto the ridgeway rain turned to sleet then snow good job i wore the heated jacket as it was below freezing up here and my left foot was fecking freezing after the soaking. It was difficult to see where i was going even with the pin lock when i got to Pontlottyn i decided to head back across Merthyr ridgeway the original plan was to come back along a ridgeway further east but it looked brighter Merthyr way but it wasn't much better The horses here must be hard as nails I got home slightly damp with a frozen foot but that was the only part of me that was cold, the roads are dry here there's a hell of a difference in weather in only about 9 miles as the crow flies. Oil and filter is done as well.
  20. Take Six with you, word on the street is he's good at making children disappear
  21. Cant you just work when the weather is shit and ride when its sunny, i thought that was one of the advantages of being self employed especially when you don't have to leave the house to work.
  22. As a company we charge £50/h for an engineer £45/h for a supervisor £40/h for a electrician and £35 for a labourer but we don't do an hour we do half day minimum, we are a specialist company though and don't do house bashing. I think a one man band outfit would charge about the same as what you paid if you could find a reliable one that is
