I can remember my R100's getting around 40 mpg and I never thought that was bad.

I can see that, of course my experience is from getting off a almost exactly the same, in terms of size, bike with 47 bhp to one with a quite a bit more so for me if already feels quite a bit faster. Once run in I am sure it will be shockingly quick for me.

Yep forgot about that The CB500 was always sitting between 80 and 90 mpg on the dash which was a little optimistic the Hornet is currently sitting at 67 mpg on the dash but I am sure that will go down once it is run in and I can play with it a bit more.

Just done the first 300 miles on my Hornet so halfway to running it in and the first service. For me it is interesting in comparison to my CB500. It genuinely doesn't feel any bigger at all but the brakes are much better and the front dives less. It copes with my fat arse better than the 500 in terms of suspension. I haven't used full power mode (which really only controls the throttle response not actual power) or full throttle yet but I have had it up to 6k revs and it is pulling hard then. It wants to go. It is very easy to bimble around on and very mild mannered until the revs get up. I notice my hands and chest are colder without a screen or handguards, it has the same heated grips as my CB500 had and I am using them more now with no handguards. It is surprisingly quiet at 70mph, no buffeting as such. I have read that is to do with the shape of the headlight and front bodywork, maybe. I love the sound it makes. The Honda Road Sync Bluetooth app is awkward to use and does not work well with an iPhone which is probably Apple being barstewards. I can't see me using it in the future unless the App improves. I don't really care as the setup I had before with a usb charger and Quadlock works just as well on the Hornet as it did on the CB500. The mudguards on the bike are rubbish. I have already got a Fender Extenda for the front. Not sure what to do about the back yet, I have little faith in huggers. I can see me sending more money to SW Motech for a rack and pannier frames, I really miss not being able to carry anything. After the scratch experience with the CB500 I am going to stay away from Bagster tank covers and bags. Thinking about a tank bag that is ring mounted but am going to do a little research before spunking any money on one. On the whole I am really pleased with the bike, seems made for me, there really isn't much that I want to improve apart from the mudguards.

They did, I am probably biased as I don't really like time travel things normally. I thought Bodies was clever but never really my cup of tea.

We just finished it, entertaining but I found the end a bit messy. Like all time travel stories it never really makes sense.

Yes she wouldn’t let me get rid of Mrs Robot or her Trojan Horse we made for another school project. They haven’t aged well as they were never intended to last but she likes them so they stay gathering dust.

Off all my kids the youngest is the one who will learn to do stuff and listen. I am sure she will help although there maybe a clash when she tries to tell me how. She spent many hours working with me in the shed before she discovered horses. There is still a pink toolbox up there although it is pretty dusty now. Here is a couple of pics from 2016 of her working on a school project ( Mrs Robot). She is currently picking my brains about all things bike for when she turns 17 and gets her first one. Must be black, cool and have gears she says. Baring in mind she was only 16 on the 18th of this month its going to be a long 12 months. Of course I will do it for her and moan, that is my job after all. She is saving her own money to help pay for the Livery of the new horse out of her wages from the job she got. She tells everyone she is the favourite child, which I have never said and do try not to treat them all differently but she is the baby of the family.

Oh fantastic news the youngest has decided to switch stables. Gonna cost thats for sure. She has informed me that she will need a tack room at the new place. What she meant is she will need a shed to keep her horse stuff in. whichever way it is gonna be a pain in the ass. There is a good 8x4 shed up the garden that I put on a wooden 6"x6" frame a few years ago, so I just need to get rid of the crap that is in it, about 4 push bikes and scooters. Which can go to the charity shop and should have done so years ago. Then take it up to the new stable and put it together, roof and stain it, plus shelves and hooks etc. Total pain in the arse. But as she keeps telling me she is the favourite child.

Ian Seabrooke is a sort of interesting guy. I do watch Hubnut quite often but he is the biggest lash up merchant. I liked his last video on the Ha Viva and Bedford HA. Entertaining though.

Went with some mates up to Kitt Hill bike meet for breakfast this morning. There were 6 of us Motor Guzzi V7 Stone, Motor Guzzi Griso, Ducati Multistrade, 1973 Triumph Tiger, Harley 883 Sportster and my Hornet. Lots of interesting bikes there including what looked like Donald Trumps Busa.

I think a lot of the weather missed us, still lots of debris on the road this morning though. Lot of police out and about to. Not that I was doing anything wrong

Had a result last night, I looked on the online rota system and saw that I had no clinician for my shift so rather than drive to Launceston just to be sent home I rung the control room to see what they wanted me to do and they gave me the night off. Still get paid and got to sleep in my own bed. Nice . Put another 55 miles on the Hornet this morning but the weather was pretty shit so rain mode being careful.

Me neither that's why I am going a different route. Be ok for charging a power bank or gopro/drone batteries or the like I suppose.

Yes it has a USB-C charging port under the pillion seat. The idea is to connect your phone through the Honda Road Sync app and have the phone under the seat charging whilst controlling it from the handle bars for phone music and nav which is fine. But I like using my Quadlock hence the need for a charging port on the handle bars.

I haven’t done 100 miles yet but I am loving it. Feels like a pumped up taughter CB500. Makes a lovely nose and feels like it wants to go but I am running it in so no wide open throttle or full power on the riding modes yet.
