Went for a bimble round the Clay Country today, cold and dry but Twas a joy to be out and about on my own. The Blue Bells were out on my walk this morning and saw the Ugly Boat.

Try getting one for less now that's what they fetch. I think it's a case of not getting your hero bikes from back in the day as modern stuff is so much better in every way. Lots of old school bikes I really like but doubt I would want to live with one as my only rider. CT125 would be a lot of fun in the right environment but imagine you would want more power before to long. Problem with that sort of bike especially on the roads that you show us is that your would be forever highlighting the fact that it would be dog slow. Tell us what you actually want from a bike to narrow the field a little. All I know is not RE, Chinky or BMW. I think Ray is right get a naked bike and back to just having fun.

Went to the first Britannia bike night earlier. About 20 bikes turned up over the course of a couple of hours. Some interesting characters to including a hump back and a cos play 1950’s greaser with his Thai bride. Also a profoundly deaf Lezzer, or that’s how she introduced herself Friendly enough bunch not sure it’s for me but will give it a chance and go again

I think the CB1000R is a very understated bike in standard trim, I think the paint job on this one brings it to life. Not convinced about the golden wheels but I think the Honda Briton style paint is lovely. The owner said that it is a custom copy of a race bike, I wouldn't know. He also told be he had special boots so that he could ride it. 50mm or 2" lift built in cost him £400 apparently. Also that the bike cost him £15k they are normally around £12K, I have no idea how much custom paint costs but I suppose £15k sounds ballpark. I also think that his plate is a ticket waiting to happen.

Just convinced a chap I’m a bull shitter . Popped out to get some bits, took the CB125 as it was easier than moving it and getting the Hornet out. Anyway got what I wanted and ended up chatting to this guy who had a CB1000R with custom paint. Anyway the conversation moved on and he asked me what I had. Told him I had a Hornet, as he was getting ready to go I went over to Bambi, Daughters name for the CB125, to leave and he gave me the bull shitting wanker side eye .
