  1. I know it’s a Marmite subject but I was given the above Scottoiler which costs around £200 it seemed daft not to try it out. Lots of people rave about them. Oh and save the belt and shaft tedium nobody cares I had a bad experience with a thing called a Loobman, I did a thread on, which did dump its contents on the back tyre which was sub optimal. It was a cheap POS and the oil valve jammed open. I am hoping I have more success with the Scottoiler. My mate with the Royal Enfield Supermeteor had it converted to Belt drive but didn’t have the skills to remove the Scottoiler that it came with. I did the deed for him and he gave me the unit rather than chuck it out. Unluckily for me the garage that did the conversion for him binned the oil delivery nozzle and bits so I had to buy that new along with some oil. Scott Oil like to charge a premium for that stuff but I have still ended up with a cheap set up so no room to moan really. I have mounted the unit on the side of the bike for access until I get used to it. I may move it at a later date depending on how I get on. I wired it into the Oxford really box thing I have under the pillion seat so that it will be isolated when the ignition is off. The thing is designed to draw minimal current when the bike it stationery in sleep mode and come to life when the bike moves. I don’t want to trust getting stranded because of that. It is designed to be also switched by the ignition and turn on when the bike does and begins to move. We shall see. So far it is working fine. The dispenser has 15 settings so I have set it in the middle and can turn it up or down depending on how much oil fling I get. I am interested to see how I get on with it on my CBF, don’t know if I would bother spending the money to do the same to my Hornet.

Pair of twats come to my town. Nice Ducs though.
  3. Good plan you could take your mates with you as well
  4. That is a nasty injury, shocking, I have been bitten several times as a postie but nothing that bad. All my best to her, can see that need several visits before it's sorted.
  5. Yeah but @busabeast could do it faster on his Busa and you would be all butt hurt and tearful in the short corner
  6. My chinky CG clone would not go faster than 58 down hill. I mean absolutely not, no way no how.
  7. You forget my mother was a preacher, heard lots of sermons and such in my time, genuinely not taking the piss
  8. PM me a link, I would watch it and not to take the piss.
  9. Yeah I could see that would be right up the Umpa Lumpa's street. Having Banda written on it would save buying rainbow flags as well.
  10. Whinger Gily don't like em much. £9000 for 80 bhp 290 kilo hunk of chinesium, doesn't sound like a rocket ship. He nearly dropped it on a cattle grid. Why not buy an older CBR600 30bhp more and 100+ kilos less for around £2000, at least it would be fun to ride with good parts and tyre availability.
  11. 4 miles from me, bargin with 800 miles on the clock. https://ebay.us/m/Pb9UWf
  12. I don't think that is an option for Shadow.
  13. I know it is a bike for short people but did you read the original post in that the Lady in question wanted a lighter bike? Injuns aint light
  14. That doesn't surprise me at all. I will say that they are tough little bikes in general given the amount of times Shadow has chucked hers down the road and the things she has hit. The finish on it is pretty good especially the paint, although I do wonder about its mechanical longevity. I suppose this thread will run and we shall see.
  15. Problem is that particular bike was assembled in Italy and while is says it was made in Italy, I'm pretty sure that parts are not. I think that bike is assembled all over the world but I wouldn't mind betting that the majority of the parts are from chinese manufacturers. I had quite a chat with the chap who fixed it and he said that even though these bikes are pretty reliable the quality isn't what it used to be. He also thought the service intervals are to big for a small air cooled motor. 4K miles between services which I am going to cut in half from now on. One point he did make was that at least you can still get parts for Japanese brands whereas it's often not possible to get them for chinese brands, so the ongoing support is there for japanese stuff and that is better than most chinese stuff. Also to bear in mind it Shadow has thrashed to tits of this thing for 15k miles whereas many chinky 125s don't actually make it that far. So you are right is the short answer.
  16. The culprit. There is a noticeable notch in the cam follower bearing. All working well now motor sounding sweet and not to horrendous a bill in fact I think it was very reasonable as he has a cash rate
  17. Dinky car test driver you mean He couldn’t handle the power of Scalextrics
  18. I am sure she would, I will get the original motor sorted, as far as I know it’s just the one bearing that’s gone. The new motor is for me when I finally get what’s left of the bike back in the future.
  19. Well finally got to the bottom of the rattle, nothing to do with the cam chain in the end. It was the bearing which in the inlet rocker runs in, the bearing broke down and opened up the inlet valve clearance intermittently. . I had to give up and take the bike to my trusted guy who found it. He is going to strip the parts from my spare engine tomorrow to get Shadow back on the road as the bearing we need is on back order. So I am going to put an order in for that bearing and sort my spare engine again so that it is ready to go back in when I get the bike back in the future. I not saying I wouldn't have found it, it's just if I started the job the pressure would have been on to get it done and I am not a mechanic and like to do things slowly to get it right, rather than fuck things up by rushing while I was learning to do it.
  20. I quite like the look of these although most don't. I was just thinking upright seating wide bars and that little gem of a motor doing 80/90mpg, perfect little back road ride.
  21. Mines the 17/9. 60 then
  22. Perhaps the 1100 Rebel could be an option for you
  23. There is something a bit broke back about it.
