I bleddy did it again. Followed a link on hear for some cheapy textile waterproof lined trousers on Ebay for £29.99. Guess what, they were crap and unwearable, mesh lining was sewn in twisted so you could not get you right leg in, press studs on the waste broken. Going back tomorrow. So I thought bite the bullet and go and buy some decent ones, which I did, and to my surprise the ones to match my Richa Jacket were only £99.99, so with my loyalty discount I got them for £89.99. Why the feck did I not do that in the first place? I think I have scrooge disease or something.

They fit pretty well considering I still have the armour in and am wearing 3 layers and jeans underneath. I am thinking of work commuting, don't want to have to change when I get there.

If a job is worth doing it is worth doing twice To be fair the first time I didn't dry the clocks on the radiator overnight as Wee jaunt did. Also I didn't fit extra gasket material like he did either. Guess what my first efforts didn't work. This time though I am going to do exactly what Wee jaunt did, I have even bought the exact material he did to make the new sealing gasket.

Wow that was a good guess. I threatened to grow a growler but my Daughters didn't want their mates thinking I was Santa, which to be fair would be accurate

I am chuffed with it, the Jacket has been great so it made sense to get trousers to match.

Que the most awkward selfie ever. Went up to Damerells and got myself some proper lined trousers for the winter. I got Richa's so they match and attach to my Jacket. Nice and warm riding home from the dealership. Just gotta fit the Oxford Muffs tomorrow and I should be set for the winter now.

I do actually have a set of Oxford Muffs sitting on the shelf I bought for another bike and never fitted. It could be their time

My top half was ok really apart from index fingers which were sitting out in the airstream from behind the hand guards. From knees down I could feel some heat from the engine, so it was only really above the knees to my waist that got really cold. I am hoping some decent lined waterproof winter trousers, along with some thermal underwear will solve the problem. The screen, front bags and hand guards provide a surprising amount of wind protection, to me anyway, more than I had expected. It all a learning curve as I spent several happy years on fully faired BMW's so in the airstream at any sort of speed above 40 mph in something I haven't done for a very long time. I have looked at heated under layers and my Mrs suggested the same, not ruling them out just see how I get on.

Feck me was it cold this morning, coming home from work and now seeing the temperature dropping to a seasonal 3c was a shock to the system after an 8 year break from biking. Thank goodness it was only 32 miles. I had a little difficulty getting off the bike. I know the right gear is important and summer waterproof trousers over jeans doesn't cut it now. Not moaning really just a reminder of what I have chosen to do. I see some padded motorcycling trousers and thermals in my near future.

It is, if you follow the Saints way towards Golant then turn left at Penventinue to Lanherriot Farm, not on the map, and the old coach road is just on the left, you can't miss it there is nothing else there. It is possible by bike but a bit challenging, I did it on a DT175 many years ago.

I think I would give them a miss, dog probably pissed on them anyway. My dog would have.

If it was my boy yes, but the good one is only 17 and not up for that sort of thing. Or that's what I am hoping

Went out walking with the Dear Boy today, 11k round trip up river to the Village of Golant. Where my Mrs came from. We walked up the old coach road but I can't imagine anything that size getting through now. Golant is a beautiful little village with a tidal Pill created by the railway line going through. If you were to follow the railway line it would take you to Lostwithiel one way and Fowey the other. The last pictures are of my dream house. The Old Sawmills at Bodmin Pill about a 1k down river from Golant. My Dad worked there for the best part of ten years when I was young. I spent many hours there as a boy during school holidays. Idyllic part of my childhood that I remember very well. Little bit of an obstacle on the path up from Bodmin Pill.

Just put the middle daughter, the good one, one the bus for a residential week at college. Already missing her, its something she does every 3rd week but being regular doesn't make the house feel any less empty. I transfered a little surprise to her bank account so she will have some spending money for the local shop where she is at college. Her college is in the middle of nowhere and very rural near a little village. Stunning place in fact.

Interesting review, reinforced my prejudice though. Still think EV's are low on the development curve in terms of being a real alternative to the piston in my living environment.

I agree it is sub optimal, but is not something limited to Royal Enfield from what I have read. More related to the use of LED's in the instrument housing rather than any big change in the manufacturing process, so no heat from incandescent bulbs to dry things out. That's the straw I am grasping at

My Himalayan has been suffering with condensated clocks. Do any sort of reading or web browsing and you get the answer; they all do that sir answer. I saw a video on Youtube by a chap called Wee Jaunt who fixed the problem. He was a diver so knew a bit about preventing condensation. Anyway today I hopefully sorted my clocks but stripping them down, wiping the inside of the lenses with a weak dish soapy mixture and squeezing a small pack of silica gel in the bottom of the clocks. Time will tell how effective my efforts have been.

Yeah not really my thing nowadays Bob. If I was to go along that route I would buy something substantially lighter to do it with. My bike was bought as a commuter first and bit of a toy second. If I was to change my mind it would only be 4 screws and 10 minutes to change back to standard.
