  1. Were they holidaymakers or residents there?
  2. The wife pays Solo Autonomo €330 a month.......and I'm listed as her dependent. That covers Health Care (but I'd get that free as an OAP anyway) and goes towards a Pension for her as well. She'll be able to claim that at 67 (in 5 years time) and by then she'll have reached the minimum 15 years that's required. But Spanish Pensions are higher than UK ones so with her 15 years she should get about €600-650 a month. Compared to my Brit one of €920 for 35 years!
  3. I haven't got a clue Fred.......but this isn't a high income country anyway. Obviously you're going to get better money in places like Madrid, Barcelona etc.

    Trip to Devon

Superb report Saul. I rode down to Bridge in the late 90's when I lived in Chepstow......very impressive operation! Those guys are like Damerells and Fowlers.......been around since the 50's! I remember visiting a grey import dealer on the way down.......their premises were like one big warehouse. Not sure of the location though.
  5. Just seen rumours on Twitter that the Sunday Times is dropping a bombshell story this weekend! Biggest of the year, supposedly. Staff leave has been cancelled and security tightened! Reputed to be a sex scandal of some kind, possibly involving a politician, a celebrity, or even a Royal. My money's on the Prince of Pegging again! Wonder if Ryanair will repeat their Tweet?
  6. Two words....Down Pipes!
  7. You know some people get pissed up and make twats of themselves, or get stroppy and punchy? Well I reckon there's a possibility that her excessive drinking is causing her to go out and buy POS third world bikes! There's no other logical explanation!
  8. Just had the bike up on the axle stand to lube the chain! I've done nearly 4000kms (2500 miles) on it and it's never needed a chain adjustment. Having said that, I'm not riding it harshly, and the chain is always cleaned and lubed regularly. The back wheel is always cleaned with WD40 at the same time! Tyre pressures, oil, and water level checked as well......all fine! And I got all the bloody flies off from last weekend as well.
  9. Baza 35 miles and Albox 75 miles.
  10. I only went to Baza and Albox!
  11. You'll pay more for motor insurance (though Recovery is always included) but less on vehicle tax. It was about €25 for the bike. ITV (MOT) is €34 which lasts for 2 years unless your vehicle is over 10 years old. Then it's annual.
  12. You were judging dossing about? So there was a Dossing competition? Considering the area you went to, there was probably a strong field! Brits and Spaniards! But my money will always be on the Dago! It's embedded in their DNA!
  13. Are you able to claim some of that back as you're OAP's?
  14. It's definitely cheaper to live out here than in Britain. When I see what they pay for Gas, Water, Electricity, Council Tax etc I don't know how people manage. We pay about €50 a month electric, €50 a quarter water, Council Tax €170 a year, and about €50 a month on wood pellets from November to April. I think food is a lot cheaper as well, but it's difficult for me to be specific because it's so long since I was in Britain.
  15. What is is that you like about being in Spain?
  16. Looks like tomorrow is going to be the day for me......unless the forecast is wrong again. We were supposed to have had rain throughout the week, but we've had nothing apart from a little shower overnight. You lot doing anything that's remotely of interest?
  17. So you could see yourself living over here then?
  18. No.....it means that if you include more than 10 pics per property then Kyero prices get a lot higher.
  19. It's a good few hours from me......in a Brit ghetto!
  20. No doubt he's over the moon cos he doesn't have to tolerate Johnny Foreigner now!
  21. @Slowlycatchymonkey........what about one for @Buckster?
