  1. Very sad. And now everyone even in the staunch pro Brexit areas wants closer ties with Europe. Twats.
  2. My shengen area app calculator says I can stay 33 more days straight before breaching the 180 rule. It shoots back up to 90 days 1st of Oct I’ve totted up my visits since last October and I have done 101 days this time. I’m pretty pleased with that. I thought the flat buying was going to interfere and it has a lot but I managed more than I thought I would.
  3. Oh god not the B word and I don’t mean bullshit Thats the point of “content you like” Ive spent an hour today watching that tosspot Dobbs cos you posted a YouTube vid of him. What a waste of an hour
  4. Tbh I enjoy it. I also enjoy when at home in the uk and things get fraught saying “let’s go Spanish on it” and Mr Slowly will just shrug and say alright then and everything chills out. Being here reminds you can stay laid back at home too. Only downside is everyone else seems so feckin uptight
  5. What you needed was good connectivity, something like the internet where you can find the resources you like My father in-law confidently announced the internet would never catch on Now he streams all sorts of content providers and orders everything online!
  6. Do they? Cos nothing else much gets done around here for the other 10 months either
  7. Fancy that. Young people not wanting to listen to old farts. Never happened before
  8. They still haven’t opened the bloody pool, everyone agreed it would open beginning of June and close end of September but it’s Spain so the maintenance guys just went - you residents can agree whatever you like and we will continue to do whatever we like. I have a grudging respect for that attitude
  9. Yer I was on Thursday but that changed and we leave on Monday. I’m actually looking forward to it which will be the kiss of death won’t it
  10. Yer and probably saying things were better in the old days
  11. Over a thousand miles is a bit of hike, might be a bit cold by the time he got here
  12. I nearly mentioned oldy Worldy mags but let’s face it they’re crap. You wait an age for a bike you’re interested in to appear and get one persons take on it which is always skewed because bike journos don’t trash talk bikes. I’m 50 Pete I remember the crap old analogue world very well, I grew up it it. Without the new world you wouldn’t have the life you have. You literally work and live online. The reality of ageing before the internet was social isolation and depression. I used to see it all the time. Depressed old people.. exhausting energy vampires who would cry at the drop of hat because you simply gave them some time and listened to them. Now mostly they can see what their children and grandchildren are doing, they stay connected and feel part of their families lives. I can guarantee you the much better world you used to live in would be shitting all over you in old age.
  13. Yotams Sunday lunch chicken (white wine, garlic, black garlic, lemon, double cream and capers) with butter garlic mushrooms, cooked separately and added at the end so they retain a strong independent garlic butter flavour. And Mary Berry’s Lemon Curd roulade, the homemade lemon curd is amazing using Spains gorgeously zingy lemons. Renamed it Meringasaurus as the eggs were super sized and puffed up to a giant 40 x 30 cm slab, rolled nicely though.
  14. And yet you bought a Honda There were no owners forums or internet research back then you would have had to wander over to the bimbo and asked if they actually know anything about the bike and gone home empty handed, literally, not even a mobile phone pic to wank over. Granted the Z1 is a beautiful bike.
  15. That’s not really how bike stands at shows work. You might research the bikes that most pique your interest but when you’re wandering round the concessions you ask about the bikes that catch your eye.
  16. They certainly didn’t smell like they washed too often and I wouldn’t mind one bit if they tried a mint rather than the rancid coffee they whiff of
  17. I prefer to talk about bikes with someone who actually knows about the bike, you know, get the info you want about the bike you want to buy. You can keep your wank bank stocked up with internet images like everyone else. For the record most of the men I've bought bikes from are ugly old munters with tits down to their knees
  18. Ducati is one brand I definitely won't be buying. They had a really strong sales team made up of women who actually rode and rode well so you could wander over at a bike festival and they knew about bikes. It was refreshing because mostly with bikes it's bimbos hired in who know nothing about the product. They were such an impressive outfit they had a group photo in the adventure biker gallery at ABR with all the other A list off roaders pics. I asked my nice looking friend who's mainly a Yoga instructor (so she's also slim and fit) why she wasn't with Ducati anymore, she replied I'm too old for them. They got rid of all of us. Some head honcho came over from Italy and replaced them all with young airheads. Apparently that's more in keeping with the Ducati image. An image they can shove where the sun doesn't shine. Backward twats.
  19. You can adjust the level of instruction even on google maps. It can dumb down the number of roads and infill etc considerably if you want. Not wanting to spend a lot of money? I’d recommend spending time familiarising yourself with Waze which is powered by google maps. Wanting something dedicated? Give up they’re mostly crappier than google maps or Waze. Yes the screens are larger, brighter and easier to read. They’re just shit to preload with routes and will eat up your own down time with a lot of swearing. One caveat on that- if you have a phone and sat nav compatible with garmin drive you can quite easily send the (correctly formatted) gps co-ordinates directly to your garmin with no hassle. Just talking about this makes me want a nice alcoholic beverage
  20. Packing up the house for the summer, won't be back til September/October at the earliest when it's cooled down a bit. Washing machine broken so lots of crappy visits to the laundrette in store. On the bright side the routes for the ride back are loaded into my Garmin which is a minor miracle in itself, Garmin is so clunky I'm never going to complain about Apple products again!
  21. At some point regardless of your upbringing you have to take responsibility for yourself, your son is the way he is because that's the way it's easiest for him to be. That's not on your head.
  22. Tragic Pete. We inherently want our parents love and approval so I can only imagine there was other shit going on there between her and her mum. It's entirely possible that busabeasts wife is clinically depressed. That could be a general chemical imbalance or caused by life events that would depress anyone or even a combination of the two. Point is that with this sort of thing it requires a determined perseverance to sort it out that the person themselves doesn't possess because they're not in a good place. It's quite staggering how many people are on the receiving end of bad parenting and on course for replicating the experience for their own kids.. and on.. and on it goes. Sometimes there really is no way to help and you have to walk away. Other times it's a phase while people try to work shit out. Personally I don't believe theres enough therapy in the world to sort my own mother out, she looks to me like pathologically damaged goods. But not everyones that way. Some people can work things out. Rich's wife coming to terms with motherhood and real life might be one of them.
  23. I'm so sorry, that really really sucks. My mum hated being a mother and used explode or sulk for and absolute age. My dad never understood why we were all so thrilled to see him when he got home from work... You might have to do something for the sake of your daughter. Staying at home with a kid all day does send some people crazy. Half the mums at school were tranq'd out of their minds. Too many demands mixed with too much time to contemplate the things that went wrong IMO. Then some well meaning soul persuades them to join the church mother and baby group for support, a place that's filled with other dead eyed mogadoned feckers that confirm their lives are officially over (no offence Buck, they just are the absolute pits). Professional help is the only thing thats going to unfurl whatever screwing your wife up. @XTreme a bit much mate. She's clearly fucked up but that doesn't make her the devils spawn.
  24. You owe a bad guy, you owe them for life.
