  1. The flights not too bad, about 2 1/2 hours and I have no problem sleeping through that. It differs from going on holiday which can be stressful cos all your gears already in place, there's no checked luggage so you go straight to security and hang about for an hour reading and drinking tea before boarding. You're also so familiar with the procedure, likely gate numbers etc you do most of it with your eyes shut. Where as on your hols you have to turn up stupidly early to queue forever just to check a suitcase in and then you get caught up with everyone else stressing doing the 'me first' march rather than simply slip through in the quiet time. Plus as you're leaving the cold n wet behind and looking forward to a nice ride in the sunshine you generally feel pretty happy about that flight. Mind you it wasn't arf parky up in those mountains today, beautiful views but brrrrrrr. Had to stop n put my waterproof on just for an extra layer and switched my heated grips on and it still wasn't enough I hear Brizzle is trialling the day before your flight bag drop which would be good for folk with suitcases flying early doors. When my bezzie comes out here in March I'm going to try and get her to do that rather than get to the airport over two hours before the flight at stupid o'clock, treat her to the less stressful way to fly.
  2. Took a stroll down to the supermarket, bought beer, pizza and some stuff to roast for Sunday lunch tomoz. Pizza disappointing as didn't have any extra toppings to add, Dr Oetker would be turning in his grave at those tasteless rubber discs pretending to be cheese. Beer is not disappointing. Beer is good.
  3. Arrived. Airport parking has a cafe so having a cup of tea before setting off. It’s a very pleasant 23 degrees at the mo.
  4. Travelling back to España. Riding my bike. Lying as still as possible and doing as little as possible. Might wander down to the seafront, maybe maybe not. Weather looks good for doing nothing.
  5. At airport. Boy has friends over, they mix good cocktails. Slightly hungover, wish I was asleep
  6. Ooh Grasshopper’s famous. YouTube income is on it’s way
  7. When the idiot was laid out in the floor gasping for breath and Fenton had eaten enough veal to last a lifetime he maybe wandered over to lick his face, so yer he ‘caught’ Fenton.
  8. It was my 50th birthday recently too, I was (and still am) pretty chuffed to have made it this far without cocking things up - pat on the back time
  9. The RE Himalayan's main problem came from releasing a bike that wasn't fit for a 1st world market. Initially it was only intended for the Indian market where it's expected things will break. People started importing them (mostly into America) and discovered the quality wasn't up to 1st world standards. RE then had to do a redo to produce something considered good enough for this market (ie fix the stuff that commonly went wrong). It took them quite some time. A lot of the earlier Enfield's came with built in problems. I haven't had any trouble with mine, other than notchy head bearing.. the rest of the issues have all been mechanic induced
  10. You don't need to be shy, there's nothing at all wrong with simple. The more you have the more complicated things get, simple is good. I love how you have all that space around you, that's far more important to feeling good in a place. I also like that you're set back from the road a bit. Looks great
  11. So do we get the agents pic of what you've bought unseen?
  12. I don't doubt that for a moment my good man, from the short time you've been on here I get the impression they're barking up the wrong tree if they think playing the old placing the blame on the parent/child game is going to give them a free pass to do nothing land.
  13. Goodonya Saul. Takes a lot of doing adopting a child and giving the love and care you're giving, takes even more to get them the input they should have. She's lucky to have you and your wife. Just grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Makes me angry just reading it. 'Reset' what do they think they're doing? Did they study at all during their teacher training? Sounds like the head of year needs to sit facing a wall and not speak to anyone until he's read a few books about child behaviour
  14. Good plan, toasty! They look like they'll be long enough when your legs bent on the bike too - stops the wind going up the your trouser leg n down into your boot. I found using those ankle/leg warmer things from the 80's to plug the top of my boot kept my feet nice n warm too.
  15. Looks like a good fit. Like that the trews and the jacket link up. Shrek and Hagrid
  16. Can you tell us then cos I've got no idea.
  17. Nice try, I'm not giving away my address on the internet
  18. So feckin' much to do today I can't see it all happening. Laters.
  19. What has tended to happen with all the smaller old school ways - standards are changed (usually 'relaxed') and large warehouse style distribution centres that auto-dispatch take over to provide better economies of scale and we lose the benefits of the smaller local amenities
  20. Weird gif soz I had a feeling it was the best of both worlds heading your way and when we hadn't heard earlier even though I was busy running through other jobs I thought hmmm where's Grasshopper, we haven't heard?! CONGRATULATIONS very very happy for you
  21. Guns, more guns, bigger faster more powerful guns and... less regulation. Said no normal person ever.
