    Absolutely!

You see stuff that never sold well in it's day listed at ridiculous prices. And for Zeds and Kwak triples it's totally off the scale.

Look at this Z1 for nearly £26K HERE! I can remember them new at £1247 on the road in 1975.

A mate had a Z1 back in the mid 70's, he sold it quick because he said it kept trying to kill him! Tank slappers, dodgy handling and suicidal brakes!

I had an RD350B and I had to change the spark plugs every month because the performance dropped right off otherwise and cleaning the plugs wouldn't get it back.

  2. Classic bikes are big business these days, but where to draw the line?

I'm gobsmacked at the prices being asked for some bikes because they're "classic".

Do you think that these prices are justified, or is it just old blokes with too much money and rose tinted specs looking for that nostalgia trip?

Still thinking about a Beemer Bob?

The offer on the f750GS has finished now, so if I do it's unlikely to be a new one, Pete. I need to have a sit on the new Trident 660. Seems to have good reviews. But I keep changing my mind about changing the Honda! If it had a few more BHP I probably wouldn't be thinking so much about changing it.

Don't bikes come with center stands anymore they make so many things easy

I paid extra for a centre stand on my CB500X.  Some bikes can't have them now because of the catalytic converters for the Euro5  take up all the space under the bike.

Question mark around my boy's status in Poland now.....the right wing government are saying his papers aren't right. That's despite having residency there for 5 years.

He's contacted the British Embassy to see if they can do anything.

The world is pretty f*cked up right now, isn't it?

I hope that he can get something sorted.

  6. The first anniversary of my early retirement a couple of days ago. Got to say, I don't miss working.

Feel for everyone who's life's are unsettled with everything that's going on at the moment. It's a tough time for a lot of people.

  7. I don't know why Triumph persist with the datatool alarms, they've been shit since they first started fitting them. My OH had one on her Speed 4 and the internal battery died on it, so we couldn't get the bike to start, as we couldn't turn the alarm off. Fortunately, being a UK bike, we just fitted the jumper plug and junked the alarm.

Anyway, that doesn't help your position. Have you decided what to do?

Their toilets are a bit odd......with just the hole in the ground.

I kept on pissing over my trainers!

Most of those hole-in-the-ground bogs have been replaced with proper ones now, so your trainers are safe(ish) now.

Which country has better roads for biking, France or Spain?

Most of the roads in this part of France are pretty decent, but there's zero tolerance from the gendarmes for speeding and the limit on single carriageway roads varies between 80-90kph.

You don't realise how big France is until you drive from Calais to the Mediterranean. 😉

I've not ridden a bike in Spain, so I can't really compare them.

Id want to be up in the hills somewhere but not too far inland

We're just north of Narbonne. We've got the Mediterranean 30 minutes to the South and the Cevennes (Black mountains) 20 minutes to the North. The Pyrenees are about an hour away and Barcelona is around 90 minutes away.

This photo was from last week, up in the Cevennes about 40 minutes away from us.

  11. I think the big problem there now is that there's too many people on there that take every opportunity to be offended. It's like walking on eggshells these days. The banter and humour has gone from the place.

No idea......I expect @Tango would know!

Techno caused a lot more people to flounce than @Six30. He and I didn't see eye-to-eye and he gradually drifted away. He's still in touch with a few of them on Facebook. There used to be YorBandit and Dave (can't remember his forum name) who were pretty good mods, but they drifted away too. I'm still in touch with them on Facebook.

Ian is a good mod, but I think he's running out of steam now too.

Craig's a good lad, met him at a few rallies, but I didn't have him down as a mod. Dunno about Blender, I've never met him.

You've had it as well then Bob?

Yes, I had the catheter in for a couple of weeks, until the antibiotics had sorted out the UTI. They gave me a spare as well, to fit myself if needed!

My knob was tiny and cowering in fear.

Something funny I have just remembered. The surgeon squirted gel anaesthetic down the old pipe first. Then whilst he is waiting for the nurses to hand him the instrument of torture he turns to me and casually says, "Don't panic, I'm just squeezing your penis to stop the gel coming back out whilst we wait for it to work." He had to tell me because I had made it quite clear I wasn't going to watch him or his little tv. What a funny job to have eh. Then he said, my CT scan showed my kidneys were now clear of stone fragments although he saw a few small sharp bits wedged between the stent and the uretha. " You might feel them as we pull the stent out!"

I spent the early hours of New Year's day 2020 in A&E waiting to have a catheter inserted after a few beers and my prostate decided that I didn't need to pee anymore! The pain was excruciating, so I completely sympathise with you, mate.

Brilliant Bob! What are prices like there?

They vary quite a lot, Pete. More expensive nearer the coast or Montpellier, but not so bad away from those areas. You can still get a wreck to do up for peanuts, but I'd rather enjoy my retirement doing other stuff. 🏍🍻😂😂😂
