Why have you given it to a dealership , is there something terminally wrong with it ?

When I used to take the train to go to school, every year the trains would stop two or three times because someone threw themselves onto the line. It’s a violent way to go too, that leaves a mess, so you must really be in despair instead of just wanting to find a quiet way out.

I have a railway line on the other side of a field behind my house. I tried to do my normal dog walk up the track beside the field and over the railway bridge a few days ago but lots of police/ambulance/fire engines up there so went a different way. Turns out some poor soul decided to end it all by jumping onto the tracks in front of a train. Walked up there today and lots of people have left flowers on the path over the bridge. I cannot imagine what circumstances would make someone take their own life and I that way. Made me very thankful for my life and family, and even the work things which have been weighing on my mind a bit recently. Sorry to be morose but every so often you have to think how lucky you are.

Is the existing external coating on the engine paint or is it some type of ceramic ?

Quite enjoy puttering about in the garage just minding my own business and doing what I want, but inevitably there is always something else that needs dealing with. Today it was mice which were in massive sack of rice (which for some reason we have to buy in bulk just in case the population of Beijing drop by and want a snack). Where there are two there will be 12 more so set up traps in places the dog can't stick his nose. Emergency over I went back to minding my own business and wired up the rear indicators, completely forgetting I need to stick a resistive load in line somewhere. Realised when I tested them and just heard the relays singing. Wired up the rear brake switch but can't test that until I put some fluid in the system. Temp sensor for the new clocks goes into the drain port under the water pump, which of course has the hex socket rounded off so spent a while swearing at it and eventually got it off. Was going to fit and connect up the battery but couldn't find the crimp on terminal connectors I know I have somewhere so had to order some more. Was going to try and make an exhaust, got all the bits of tube I have out and bodged it into a rough idea of how I can get it all together but don't want to start welding until I have the back wheel on with a tyre so I can see how much clearance I will have. My one tangible achievement after all that is that the clock now works on the new speedo

Kinda anxious to find out what's damage the dealership will find...I don't mind spending a bit of dosh on it , cause I know the bike is still solid and still looks nice after 22 years...my limit is 2 thousand, more than that..im having second thoughts..well maybe a little more..lol...bike has more sentimental value than money to me. This journey that I have been fortunate to share with you all has come full circle..it ends where it begins...lol....in 2005 when I touched the internet for the first time..lol. Like the song from flock of seagulls...space age love song.

Saturday morning come to find out adventurerider has been sold to a Canadian company , can't believe my crap is still there after 2 decades...lol. I sent and email asking them to remove the bann on the user marcel...lol.

And for it to take one last long rider after it's fixed....im calling the ride... "Operation Epic Overlord". Gonna be state side for the 4 of July....can't tell you where Im going but im to meet some very important people's. After that it will be retired to local only riding.

After I got home Thursday...and sudden ugre got a hold of me , to pull out the 950 from it's hibernation to give it a wash.. And a vision came to my mind for it to take one long last touring ride ....but a few years ago I started noticed oil on my skid plate..had a look back then but it's really hard to see and it leaks very little only when im running at speed...to me it looks like the rear cylinder base gasket...so Friday the 10th i deceided to take it to the dealer to have a second opinion..the bike is still in mint shape after 22 years and to me it's worth fixing...and for engine work possibly i don't have the proper tools here..and if they have to tair it down..im gonna get a new timing chain guides and tensioner put in...

Plus I told the nurse before coming this morning 945 am , I drank two coffees ...so tell the the doctor he might be seeing rainbows when he looks down there...lol. Come to find he wanted to stick a camera down my throat has well...I said no no , he called me here for arse only...she said you can refuse but the doctor will try to convince you....and he did..they knocked me completely out...and they ramed a camera in my rear end and down my throat...

Wensday it was preparation for the camera in the rear end...was extremely hungry before starting the liquid draino..I call the pharmacy to ask if I could injest anything before the drain cycle..she yes..chicken or beef broth is just fine if you take it before the the drain...had none so I grabbed a can of tomato soupe instead...and during the many dumps I polished off and entire box of popsicle..figure there's no way the doctor will do the exam now..after I tell that...lol...

Would like to share with you my wild pets...lol...a squirrel, 2 crows a stupid wood pecker that pecking on my telephone pole every morning and a skunk...couldn't get the pic of the skunk thoe.

By Monday I was getting bored again..lol...so I decided to engage the chatt bot on chatgtp...lol. Was really hoping to test out the new qwantum computers but they are still a few years away...so its just a basic machine working from 1 and 0. But I was curious so I decided to engage it in a game..like we play here at times. I would ask it questions on science, genealogy, and logic. Anyway 15 min in..I wipped its arse 10 to 0 ...lol...by the end I was actually chatting with a live person interface with the chattbot....lol. Only using my Samsung 21...lol.
