6 months of snow a year ain't too clever though!

I was in northern Finland a couple of months back, minus 30 C. Came home with a bit of frost nip on my nose. Quite happy with snow, put the bike away and get the snowmobile out.

At least it’s not 6 months of dreary grey drizzle.

I live in a low population area here on the eastern coast...infested by moose ..wich they have no natural predators..the only way to keep them in check and healthy is by selective hunting..Wolfe were killed off long ago..

Before the tranz women accuse me of being racist..we do not have and immigration problem here...basically no one wants to live here...you'll see with the pictures I'm about to post..

What ever the out come ..I hope you decide to stay ..not cause  of my departure possibly...someone has to take my place to keep  Buckster in check..with his non-sence...lol.

Here's a few pictures from today.

That looks bloody great, I’d love it there. I’m somewhat antisocial, I’d love to live somewhere with few or preferably no other people.

id just about persuaded my wife that moving to northern Finland on our retirement was a good idea, then this stupid bloody country had to go and vote for Brexit so that screwed that. Now I’m stuck in this overcrowded third world country. The best I’m going to get is to move out of the bottom right hand corner to somewhere a bit less crowded.

Never eaten moose but I guess it cooks up like any other venison.

You are assuming the father is a Frenchie.

Good point, if it got rodgered by a Great Dane that might have rang a few alarm bells.

  4. A litter of frenchie's could be worth 10k, why would they want to abort it?

Then again if you are asking for vet advice on FB maybe the owner needs medical help.

My daughter did 2 years (thereabouts) on her Piaggio NRG 50cc , it is much easier to learn to ride on one with it being a auto....much like riding a pushbike with having to pedal. 😂....a car took her fancy after riding home from nightshifts in shit weather, she did once push the scoot home a distance of nearly 2 miles when the roads were covered in snow & ice....wise decision.

My lad has never shown any inclination to ride or drive, he has never had a driving licence....he did have a nice mountain bike at one time, but he sold it when he ran out of Fosters 🍻  one day. 😂

Good work with your daughters lessons. 🏍

At least when your kids have ridden a bike or even just done the CBT, if they then move to a car they will be a better and more considerate driver for having done so. I think everyone should do a few hours, something like the CBT, as part of car driver training. We’ d all be better for it.

  6. We all have the same passport at present, if Scotland left the uk I can only imagine that those that lived there would get a new Scots passport.

it’s unlikely to happen in my lifetime sadly. Before Brexit my intention was to retire to Finland but can’t do that now. But at least I can buy wine by the pint, so it must have all been worth it.

  7. 700 miles across Europe with no cones, temp speed limits, roadworks, litter, average speed cameras or middle lane morons. Not even 10 miles from the uk side of the tunnel, miles of contraflow, cones and average speed cameras. And we’ve just passed a fridge dumped by the side of the road.

    I so missed the UK.

How do you fill in all the gouges in the edge of the rim? I’d love to do mine but it would end up looking like a dogs breakfast knowing my luck…

    Where are you?

Laax in Switzerland, last minute thing and was a case of wherever we could find a few days accommodation. Snow is so so, horrible at low levels, ok at the top. Staggeringly bloody expensive but you can’t take it with you…

    Did a front brake job on a 2018 Q 50 think it was.last week.equipped with brembo brakes..put it this way...glad I wasn't paying for it..

I had the disks and pads replaced on all 4 wheels of a VW Toureg on Friday. It was painfully expensive. I’ve had it for the last 52k and this is the first set of pads I’ve put on it…I don’t use the brakes much 🙂

A good look over of the bike might be in order...it's been sitting for some time now...

I had a butchers over mine today, need to clean and wax the chain on one tomorrow as its got some surface rust where I obviously washed the bike and forgot to do it. Need to take my pressure washer to bits to find out why its stopped pressuring and only does the washing bit.

Well he was the head designer so I would imagine that he knew what he was talking about, sadly JFK didn't and by 1968 they knew that they couldn't do it hence the coverup, even now they admit that they can't go higher than low Earth orbit.

So the lunar orbiters sent to the moon in the 60’s were also faked?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Orbiter_program

…and the orbiters up there now, launched 15 years ago or so are fakes too, and all the photos they have sent back are faked, and the high res images of the Apollo sites are faked too … ?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Reconnaissance_Orbiter

…and the photos gathered by the Japanese, Indian and Chinese of the Apollo sites are all fakes, and the various countries which tracked the missions on the way to the moon by radar are all in on the conspiracy and are faking everything.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-party_evidence_for_Apollo_Moon_landings

That’s a fuck of a lot of people supposedly “in” on the fakery and supporting it for no obvious reason.

You're over there on your bike then?

Sadly not, - don’t have any bike bags/ luggage & wife not interested in bikes which would mean I’d be here in my Tod.

    Lovely place though.

  14. Currently in Copenhagen and it’s lovely. No litter, cheap public transport ( that actually works), park your bike and it’s still there when you go back to it, great bars, no obnoxious twats, no pot holes … it’s lovely, tho a bit cold.

Considering the Indian is an obvious Harley copy it is impossible for the Harley to be an Indian copy.

My FTR is a brilliant fun and certainly no copy. Bikes made for the US cruiser market all look similar because it’s what the yanks want, but seems to me Harley only upped their game and produced a liquid cooled engine with a decent power output because Indian were doing it?

Indian is not going to challenge Harley in terms of sales, at least not for a long time. There is a chunk of the bike riding community who just want a Harley because it’s a Harley, just like there are Ducati die hards. Indian hasn’t got that brand cachet. At least not yet.

Just noticed you are in Edinburgh, I got mine from Saltire.

As I have said afaic the Earth is an oblate sphere, I'm not questioning that but was merely interested in the two items that I posted seeking a rational explanation, this apparently was to much for some of the forum members as you have seen.

    Shadows don't turn corners.

If you know anything about photography in the late 60's you will know that celluloid film stock is very heat sensitive so none of those miraculous images would have come out, in the shade the film would have shattered as it was advanced and when exposed to the heat it would have lost the ability to capture an image, Armstrong had the camera strapped to his chest without a viewfinder and he would have had to make the exposure adjustments while wearing heavy gloves, not happening, but by a miracle every photo came out perfectly, but the big thing from all the alleged missions is where are the photos of the Earth, there aren't any, not a one, did they not look up or something, the "Blue Marble' image is an illustration done by a guy working for NASA, he even admits it, so there was only one camera on the Apollo 11 mission so who took this, where was the camera mounted ?

But you didn’t think shadows could be anything but parallel until I proved otherwise. Their direction is dictated by the angle of the object casting the shadow. It’s physics.

The reality is that no matter how much of the hoax “ evidence” is shown to be incorrect the conspiracy theorists will just go back to the internet for another piece of so called evidence.

  17. I’ll be the first to admit I know nothing about Harley’s but it does seem that actually having some competition, in the form of Indian, might be good for both companies. A lot of the big Harley’s actually had relatively low power outputs ( but reasonable torque) but more recently the sportster s ( and others) has seen this improved with a liquid cooled engine. Might seem like an abomination for the air cooled purists but If I could get past the feet forward riding stance I’d consider one.

  18. But Zacc you thought that the moon landing was a hoax and one of your principal arguments was that the shadows weren't parallel. It seems to be one of the main  arguments the moon hoax lot put forward. It took 20 seconds, two match sticks and a torch to show you that argument was bollox. Tell me again who's on the short bus?
