@Sir Fallsalot.................. Just for your info Fred.
Steve (in the foreground in this photo) is in hospital at the moment. He had a tumble on the Fosseway and broke 7 ribs and a punctured lung. He'll never get the nickname of 'lucky'

Yes it's the same as a Peli case (but without the expense), I used to get them from Solent Plastics but this one came from ebay.

I thought that looked familiar @Sir Fallsalot. No bike but a self portrait of sorts.
Sorry Fred, but those are not stylish as there are loads of ugly feckers in the background

I like it, but wouldn't you prefer something smaller for short day rides with sandwiches?
It will carry my tyre compressor, spare gloves, spare levers, sandwiches, flask and overtrousers

We will be making a mad dash this pm to make the falling tide. Evening stop in Port Dinorwic in the Menai where we will forgo anchoring in favour of a mooring as the wind is predicted to swing from SW to N during the night. Cross Caernarfon Bar at 10:30 am Sat and make our way to Ynys Meibion for a weekend of fun. Will dive a bit for lobster, a bit of fishing off the wreck. A bit of water sports with the kids. Beach BBQ's and rock pooling specie competition with the kids and then head back on Sunday after 4pm.

dunno if it's a GR Bob, It was once the river towpath I think, but obviously fell into disuse and unmaintained about 80 years ago, I expect cyclists, fishermen and dog walkers keep it as it is now ( that's why I only explore like this on weekdays cos weekends would probably get confrontational, whereas today I saw no one...
I had a look and the GR213 goes through Joigny but not by the river, some of it might be fun to follow.

Excellent stuff Chris, glad you got it sorted. Is it a GR route ?
We ride one like that alongside the Dordogne river, it gets a bit hairy in places
