  1. I've had two VFRs, only thing faster off the line was my V-Max but that didn't stop and didn't go round bends, that's a whole nother story
  2. Well it was resurrect or stay in the grave Tym, can't let an icon die just because of emissions, looks OK to me, not sure how they managed to add 24lbs though thought they'd have made it lighter not heavier
  3. I overshot the Owl's Nest and these scoots have a two mile turning circle LOL, but to be honest I prefer the Sennybridge Cafe over either of them
  4. A little more of a jaunt on the scoot today, just 100 miles but most of that is single track, supermoto style roads Up over the Blacks again through Llangadog and onto the West End Cafe in Llandovery, an expensive bacon roll and cup of tea (£5.90 robbing bastards) Then onto the lane up to Llyn Brianne Overlooking the damn, looks like there's lots of construction work going on there Anything over 40mph on these roads get's pretty exciting, very tight and twisty but rarely used by cars Some of the stunning views, my pics don't do it justice On to the view point, yes I had to ride a little "off piste" to get there Last stop at Llyn Brianne before moving on Down the "Devil's Staircase" and onto Abergwesyn Pass, again, tight twisties, gotta be careful here, the road often drops away with hidden dips but these are often immediately followed by a bend, go over the hump too quick and you'll run off the road and down the bank Into Llanwrtyd Wells (the smallest town in Britain then through Tirabad and onto the Sennybridge ranges, these are military ranges with a road running through them which is mostly open to the public except when they're using live fire maneuvers They have a fake village in the ranges where they hold exercises Onto the A40 and turn off at Trecastle to get on the Trecastle road and head South on the East side of the Black Mountain I rode over earlier Straight down the A4067 to home then, very nice few hours out relaxing and fun at times, especially nearly getting taken out the other side of the blacks by a Lambourghini, Ferrari and Porche none of whom seems to be able to stay on their side of the road when coming round bends< I suspect they were there filming as the road is often used by motoring programs
  5. Yes, the X-Max will do 95mph and cruise effortlessly at 70/80mph all day long in great comfort and ease, no clutch pulling, no flicking up and down gears in traffic/bends, just roll on/off the throttle. Quite enjoying the relaxing ride and still has plenty of punch for overtakes
  6. Yes, you tend to bobble up and down on the seat a little, however I bumped into a friend out there who rides scoots and he gave me a great tip that cured it.... Place your feet further forward on the forward foot rests, this wedges you into the scoot between the foot rests and back rest, works great, you feel much more secure rather than feeling like being a pea on top of the seat
  7. Here's my tiny bit of Wales, where I live
  8. You're thinking of a different Jason
  9. The "Blacks" is a stunning road, it used to be used by the original Top Gear crew Here's me leading a bunch of trail riders out, this is the road section to get to the first trail
  10. Most scooter riders simply use them to commute to and from work etc, they don't see themselves as part of a larger biker community I had loads of bikers giving me the nod as I rode past
  11. Had to go out and get some more meds for my back so took the long way round to test the scoot is all working as it should Parked up next to some locals but they wandered off as even they didn't want to be seen next to it Continued on via the tight single track roads that weave through the woods, you know the sort where it's so little used that a grass verge has grown down the middle, scoot handled it well On past Pontardawe to Brynamman and up the Blacks where I saw this lot obviously on their way to the supermarket with their shopping boxes Here's the obligatory top of the mountain shots Just getting used to it really, I haven't ridden a twist and go since 1980 and that was inside the indoor shopping centre in Romford, up and down the stairs, pissed as a fart with a girl on the back, I'll try to avoid such shenanigans on this one Back down via Ystradgynlais, visited a friend then off to get the meds Very comfy ride, in fact my back is far better when on the scoot riding than when off it, she hits the speed limits very quickly, plenty for overtakes, very sure footed and natural in the bends, very pleased so far
  12. No mate, I've never bought a band new vehicle since the 1980's, I learned after buying a brand new van and a brand new 2.8 injection special Capri in the same week, lost a small fortune over a year, swore I'd never do that again £1500 with 8.5k km on it, can't beat it really
  13. Ahh OK, so other than an extra 100cc it's not more like a motorbike than the X-Max? Got mine at a serious bargain too at £1500 with only 8.5k km on it
  14. I have it already, fucked back has prevented me from riding it ironically, should be good to go very soon
  15. Doesn't the T-Max still use CVT like most scooters or have they used the DCT of the Integra/NC700 bikes then?
  16. Yeah I didn't want a full on maxi scoot as I will be nipping through traffic with it
  17. Finally I can feel the wind on my vagina once more After more than 4 years of no bike I bought one of these Knackered joints and lack of self control dictated it, it's only a little 400cc but on the roads here you hardly need anything more and this suits some plans I have Yamaha X-Max 400
  18. Any of the DJI mini drones will be great, I use a Parrot Anafi as I have a need for a camera that can also point upwards plus I hate having props in the video whe tilted full forward but most people love their Mavic whatever version, just remember to ensure you have solid GPS signal before launching off
  19. Hi Phil, you too Have you got some teeth now? ?
