  1. Not quite.... I was working @ a bike shop doing mainly tire work. One day a regular well known customer that was in tight w/ the owner & a regular racer... he shows up on a PC looking for a new rear tire....the boss locates one in the back for him, but I couldn't start on the swap before he took it to the parking lot to wear out what was left of the existing rear tire..... Smoke Show from Hell!...clear down to where you could hear the chords scraping on the inner fender.....POP!! I bet the neighbors thought the shop was on fire though.

  3. Just got back (20:30) from Bude bike night. Took my youngest and went with the Fowey Chill Blaine chapter. Five of us and my youngest. Guzzi V85TT, Triumph Scrambler, CB500X, RE Super Meteor and my Hornet. The bike night in Bude has moved to Rosie’s Kitchen which is down near Crooklets Beach. Lovely spot which I failed to take any pictures of. Any way some interesting stuff there although a small turnout by Bude standards. Couple of nice Wank Panzers. Told my youngest that’s what they are called on here, apparently there is something wrong with us according to her Thinking about it she’s not wrong. After I took the photos a Harley crew all patched up in club colours rolled in parked in the middle of the car park and proceeded to scowl at everyone else. Strange lot, why come to a bike night if you didn’t want to mingle. On the way home we stopped in Camelford for chips Chloe was buzzing when we got home she loved travelling in a group. Especially as we lead on the way home, don’t know why she liked that so much, I don’t personally but whatever. We were out for 5 hours and Chloe managed to consume a white hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, cheesey chips, burger and Dr Pepper. I had a coffee, yet I’m fat and she is like a rake. 5. Got my rear wheel today, still in the box from Harley Davidson. I wasn't planning on getting a new one but I saw this on ebay at a good price and watched it for a while, I was the only one watching so I made them a lowball offer and they accepted. I got the front at an excellent price as well obviously from a low mileage bike so I am well happy.

  8. Well I've just been out and fixed the camera to the bike on the top yoke it seems to have a decent enough view through the screen and not too much speedo and rev counter. So let's see what I get tomorrow, I'll be taking the other mounts so I can always move the camera if I'm not happy with it

  12. They are spoked and I can't run tubeless which is a pain given I do a lot of miles so roadside repairs would be difficult. Plus the are getting a bit ropey with corrosion on the spokes. I also like the look of the bigger front. These alloys will take less cleaning and maintenence all round and look nicer.

  23. Blimey. I used to train with this guy back in the day, and all I can say is he never touched my winky. Not that that's saying much - an officer at a male prison once told me that I was the first bloke they'd had in the place who didn't get whistled at by the inmates. It really comes to something when even incarcerated homosexuals can't be bothered to make the effort... Anyway, what an ignominious end to a career. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c103zgpr4pjo

  29. It was time for a little fettle today after the weekend's trail ride. The first thing I noticed was the number plate light was loose so I set about that first. I looked behind the rear mudguard to find the fasteners and they were real cruddy and sure enough they both snapped off. That was no biggy but the fact that they were seized in the ferrules that they sit was a pain but I managed to punch them out ............... I cleaned the area up a bit and then tried to find something to replace the shitty stuff ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, You know when you find something and it's just perfect, well this was the day. I must have bought these over 15 years ago as I bought them to replace some items I had on my last Africa Twin............ a bit of red rubber grease around the grommets and then they were in .............. and that was that job done ......................

  30. Next up I needed a rack so I had somewhere to carry tools, tubes, tyre levers etc. There wasn't a great deal of choice so in the end I opted for some Chinesium from Ali Express.............. Fitting this required the removal and drilling of the rear mudguard. Very kindly Yamaha saw fit to mark where you had to drill on the underside of the guard .................... Then the spacers (supplied) were added to line up with the subframe.............. Two of the supplied bolts were not quite long enough to facilitate a locking nut underneath so I ordered some 10mm longer stainless bolts and then it was done ................

  31. People overestimate what a big trip means to a vehicle. Going from Portugal to Germany and back is 5000km, any vehicle can do that. It's way more tortuous to do a third of that distance sat in a garage and going for coffee one every 6 sundays over 5 years.

  34. I was 17......I didn't need to keep fit! What I needed was to plonk a few birds but the BSA's put the fucking kybosh on that! No joke pushing a Brit POS round Swansea with a fucking hard on!

  36. She went out on her fake BSA and was never seen or heard of again! A lesson here for all of us I'd say! What I don't get is why anybody would build a bike to invoke memories and relive the "thrill" of a 1960's Beeza.......cos they were fucking shit! All I ever did was push both of mine around Swansea! I sure as hell don't want to relive that!
