  1. A good day. The final payment was made to the bank loan that bought the Africa Twin in 2018. Some overpayments brought that forward. It was due to be paid off in November. So extra money now onwards. A good thing considering what “they” have done to this country.

You can bury it in the pot to stop it spreading. Although I accept no responsibility if mintaggedon ensues! 😉😂😂

he's right, it is the roots. not sure why I was thinking of seeds. ho hum. anyway this looks like good advice to add to that.

Why does mint spread so fast?

Mint spreads easily because of its resilient rhizomes. A rhizome is a large stem which grows underneath the ground and which propagates lateral shoots (Ivany, 1997). In other words, mint has a strong root system which spreads underground, facilitating its rapid growth.

The best way to control mint is to limit the spread of the plant's roots by planting it first in a pot, then sinking the pot into the ground or into the soil within a larger container. Every few weeks, give the pot a quarter turn to keep the roots from escaping through the drainage holes.

  3. Last years.. and it went well. this year: south of France/route des grande Alpes/ligurian alps/Lake Garda/Dolomites. countdown is underway 149 days.

and this has nothing to do with Argan propagation. apologies.

Well Pedro you’ve gone n started something now. You and Clive have made me (yes made me) go and buy a load of herbs and I don’t know what I’m doing so shortly you could have a lot of plant death on your hands 😆

    Went with-

    Thymus 'Archer's Gold'

    Thyme

    Sage

    Coriander

    Mint

    Parsley (Flat leaved)

    Chives

    Oregano

    Wasabi Rocket

    Dill

    Tarragon

and two edible flowers for prettier dishes -

    Cornflower

    Geranium called Splish splash.

Some are seeds some are litre pots ready for planting. As I’m well known for killing plants and it’s slug n snail heaven round here I’m not optimistic but you never know they say they’re hardy but will they be hard enough?!

Don't plant mint in your garden.  keep it in a pot and if flowers appear. cut them off fast.  you definitely do not want them producing seed as they grow like weeds and will take over your garden in a year or so. popping up hither and yon. here there and everywhere. mintageddon is really a thing. even if its not a word.

  5. The air was cool with a very hot sun.

    interesting day today.

electric problems. Bodged and limped to Besancon. New/old part found and sorted. But it took hours. Stopped for a meal at Gap (appropriately enough) and from there to Le Camping Moto, in the Vercors. Arrived at dusk so tents up and sorted fast!

    and beer.

what a day. We should have been here by 4. Not 9:30!!!

spotted a treasure at the bike place…

  8. fortunately I have ear plugs at the ready. think I might need them both on and off the bike.

Im virtually set and ready to start packing, kinda. sorta. ready-ish. just collecting the stuff I think I might need and then whittling that down to what is actually essential.

Looks very much like a fine weekend for the run down to Austria. plenty of sun and warm all weekend and into next week.

which is more than can be said for the Grossglockner.. where its pretty horrible today after a fair amount of snow fall last nigh!!

Pity any poor fools who had today earmarked for a ride up there.

    .2c and awful visibility.

Heh heh. Well actually it has the top of the line DID chain on it, as sold to me my the MV Agusta salesman, after wiping some of his dinner off his chin (it was about 8pm or something), and then fitted in the morning in factory style with hard rivet link. That chain isn't going anywhere.

And actually I gave beer away in Belgium to bloke from the Belg version of the RAC, who left me a can of carb cleaner after trying nearly every hotel in whatever part of Belgium we were, oh and going to buy some spark plugs. The issue was a dodgy ground point which had been painted, it worked, just, but not in the rain. Since then it's been stripped and powder coated... Buuutt I don't think I'll bother. I've got something much worse to test instead.
