I really wanted to get on this dirt road and see where it went, but no time...

That looks so tempting! And easy terrain on the big bike too, not sandy

How far do you figure are the hills in the distance? 30 or 40km?

Apart from that, before this it seemed a properly cold and grim ride :classic_ninja:

Yesterday consisted of crossing Montana at 90 mph+ in rain and strong winds. What a party that was. Didn't take too many pics.

But I did get to stop  at the Little Big Horn Battlefield site, where infamous General George Armstrong Custer got his ass handed to him by Sitting Bull. Seems George and his gang of about 400 soldiers thought it was a good idea to attack 10,000 Lakota Indians on their home turf. Didn't work out well for George, et al.

There are markers where each soldier fell as the Lakota chased them for 5 miles across the hills, culminating in Custer's Last Stand on hilltop where they were wiped out.

Small groups of markers where the first soldiers died...

Custer and the remaining gang made it to distant hilltop only to be surrounded by thousands of pissed off Indians. They all fell here at the Last Stand...

All of the US soldiers were buried in a mass grave and this marker was installed on top of them. Custer was later reburied at West Point Military Academy....
