It'll do it.....use the best quality liquid wax you have, leave it soak in for a few minutes then rub it in. It'll take a few applications to get rid of all the glue though. I'd use WD40 before I'd use brake cleaner though. I've tried wax and WD40......and wax does a better job on glue. WD40 does a better job on tar though.
