Spain is not all yellow and dry

Today I drove to Galicia for a business meeting, and thought of taking a couple of pictures of a part of Spain completely different than what appears on reports from our members living in Southern drier Spain:

Spain in the distance

Driving from Orense to Lugo and back:

On top of the road you see on the previous picture, from where I took the picture, I found a memorial saying  "in memory of deceased bikers", the previous part is harder to translate as it means "a breath to the sky", or something like a blast to the sky, or to the heavens.

Great shots Pedro!

I'm always amazed how green Galicia and Asturias are......course they get a lot more rain than we do.

And for @Sir Fallsalot and @Specs, Galicians are also classed as Celts and participate in the annual Celtic Festival.

Pays de Galles in French......and Gales in Spanish.

And the Y chromosome in the males of the Basque Country is the same one generally found in Welsh males.

Exactly. Galles, Galicia, Gales. The link must go back a long way.

Worse places to trace our DNA back to than Northern Spain Alan.

I mean....just imagine if that chromosome connected us to the Hanoverians?
