Grasshopper

Recommended Posts

89 seconds of the "Pecker Log"
The first woodpecker is the male Great Spotted, after 29 secs it the female (no red patch on the back of the head)
Taken with a cheap trail camera that I pulled apart and refocused for closer subjects

Wow, do you know why it's empty Chris ?

yep.

🤣

they drop the level every winter so they can absorb the winter rain and snowmelt. This year is exceptonall cos they have to inspect the Dam every 10 years I think and they need to empty the reservoir to do that.

Last year or the previous one, I had an aphid infestation on my peach tree. Decided on being green and not using any chemicals, I bought a small box of ladybug eggs so they'd hatch and start eating all the aphids, which is what they should do as ladybugs are nature's most fierce predator.

Anyway, all they did was munch on a couple of the aphids, then went into a sex craze for two days and then fucked off somewhere else. Here's a video I took, with the soundtrack to suit the mood.

You'll notice the aphids happily walking up and down the branch, going about their business :classic_dry:

Well those two in the opening shot should be sacked, there's more ladybug shagging going on there rather than chomping on aphids 😏
