Slowlycatchymonkey we're trying to turn the page and move the forum into a more refine place in order to attract more members...posting pictures of animal sex is only gonna attract those sheepshagers...just saying...

A refined place? Here? Even Jesus couldn’t turn this around.

You didn't read my edit did you LOL

Nope, missed that 😆 an excellent suggestion for deviation from a traditional recipe, I salute you, but it’s usually in a pie isn’t it?..

That's nice of you but an odd recipe

It’s pretty traditional really. Just the sweet and sour of old like cider vinegar and salt is balsamic and soy.  You can’t pick up on it, its just better at making meat taste meatier. More unami.

We're getting an Indian tonight neither of us can be bothered to cook

Came close to getting a takeaway but there was some ox cheek and ox tail shouting at me from the meat counter so had to do it justice.

Served it with a creme fraiche sauce I soured with some fresh lemon and flavoured with super strong horseradish to cut through the richness. Baked some bread (no pic soz) and rolled out the carpet with some lovely unpasteurised Normandy butter.

I’m thinking my demented mother might enjoy it, it has that old school thing going on, I can imagine her mum making it for her.

Although probably good and bland without the sweet smoked paprika, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and honey 😂

I had a Recovery in 2007 (Opel Astra), 2016 (XT600), 2022 on two occasions (R1200GS), and 2023 (Xsara Picasso)......all done within the hour!

You limped the bike home with no brakes though didn’t you? You didn’t sit on the side of the road.

Anyway tis irrelevant, I’m simply saying my experience of the amazing recovery in Spain wasn’t that.

    Sorry missed this Pete.

Pros on the forum for me are:

Some very interesting people who do interesting things, live in interesting places and will talk about it.

We can talk about bikes without  a lot of the bullshit 180 mph on public roads type stories.

    Some very genuine people.

    No tolerance of Pomposity.

    No Politics, mostly.

    Some genuinely weird fuckers here.

    Cons:

    Those fucking mange photos.

Some spiteful pile on type of nit picking, wind ups and bullying.

There are a lot of bikes and bike type stuff that people avoid talking about because the pile on culture think they are shit.   I think we are missing a lot of interesting content as a result.

The sheer volume of homophobia, misogyny and obsession with bumming type comments.  I grew up in the 1970's and understand the humour but there are less and less of us now and it just doesn't fly today, if you want to recruit new members and grow the forum.    You may not want to change the dynamic of the place.   But don't underestimate how many people will walk away from this type of stuff though, even in our own age group.    Sometimes being a member of this place feels like a guilty secret rather than something I would recommend to my mates.

Now don't take anything I have said as an attack on anyone, it's not meant that way.  You asked for what I thought and here it is.

I do think this is a great forum with a good community, I enjoy spending time here.

Wow that is honest.. RUN FOR COVER 😆

Yep I don’t tell anyone about here. Most of my biking friends would call out the derogatory behaviour or language and then after being met with the usual piled on hostility simply leave. They would also think dimly of me for participating so I say nothing.

It’s no mystery to me why every female contributor you’ve had has contacted me to say goodbye.

    It's OK......you don't own the Enfield now!

It's interesting that when you had the CB500 you never got any abuse......yet mine is the most reviled bike on this forum!

But he's not insured through a Spanish Insurance company is he?

Those gigs will always take preference over anything else.

It was still a shit experience and it was the Spanish recovery who repeatedly didn't come out.

  10. You can say the recovery in Spain is amazing but thats the place Mr Slowly sat on the side of the road in the scorching sun for nearly 6 hours waiting for recovery when we were only 20 mins from Granada! Maybe thats a one off or a Brit hating thing but either way it’s not my experience that recovery in Spain is top notch.
